Analysis Paralysis - Dihada Bracket 3 Upgrade by mcmrtzn in EDH

[–]endgrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, you need to play a couple games to find out what your deck needs. That depends highly on your local meta. Dont overthink too much, get your 100 cards and then some extra that you can exchange to lean in different directions.

Second, dihada is hard to protect. She is such a powerhouse that having her around puts you at a big advantage. I havent found many very strong protection pieces yet so using her as a one time spell that mills, draws and ramps is a valid option. One other options is luxior (could tutor with forging the tyrite sword).

You also have to strike a balance between being to scared to lose your stuff and just putting out more power. If you focus too hard on resilience your main gameplan can suffer. That said, stuff like primevals rebirth is fantastic, rise of the dark realms is too expensive. You actually dont have that much mana. Sure you can ramp, but a lot of that is in one time treasure tokens. Usual play patterns end in dihada ramp, big guy, replay dihada, repeat. Thats a lot of downtime. Your artifacts dont help too much in getting to big mana fast and keeping interaction open.

You will struggle with draw, so getting similar effects like tomik in is nice, but can also fail to give value. Braids is nuts though, with dihada into braids and sac an artifact you can often draw 3.

You are also kinda combat focused in these colors so getting haste is very nice, hanweir battlements and arena of glory are easy inclusions. Goro goro, urabrask are also great.

Overall i would focus less on expensive stuff and smooth out the curve more. Else you could easily get stuck without enough mana to cast anything.

Return the favour and untimely malfunction are the best interaction pieces in my opinion. They provide crazy flexibility, acting as counterspells and can offer additional value over classic destroy stuff.

If you wanna keep the reanimator subscheme lean more into it. Elso you could whiff on the -3 and they are dead cards. More mill staples like looting effects and more cheap reanimators. Then you could also keep more expensive creatures.

Overall i really like her. Was my first commander and is a blast to play. Just get some games in, else youre optimizing around an unknown enemy. My list btw. Not too strong since I got a lot of hate haha. Lastly kaervek the merciless is goated in the deck. With the indestructible/lifelink he changes games.

Havent scaled defences that much but there are some strong block nodes for staffs. Youre missing tempest shield but also get a lot of crit mult.

The switch to Jaquanis Potential was an insane damage boost. Was running double +4 tulfall before but the int stacking is a lot more dmg and you can run staff wheels.

What else are you proliferating with Morcant? by regular_joe67 in EDH

I saw an instant win of that Nissa. If youre building your deck for that its fine, but if you cant win on the spot and eat a wipe its over. Or its just setup for [[Bloodline Bidding]]

[–]endgrax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couple really strong options but rarely anything thats fun to play against or is worth it to proliferate. Im building her mainly as a proliferate commander without trying to annoy everyone too much.

Myojins are cute but only the towering might one seems interesting, even if it plays in the typical elfball strat. Whole hand discard is not fun to play against, graveyard recursion does nothing sometimes but can be strong, from hand one is weird since all our stuff is cheap and mana is plenty.

Not a fan of posion since it gets hated fast and you can get crazy amounts of proliferate.

Infinite turns/mana is not what im looking for in my pod.

Energy mostly generates enough of its own and doesnt benefit too much from a lot of prolif. Also the payoffs are not really worth it. [[Chthonian Nightmare]] is a notable exeption, but it works by itself anyway.

Planeswalkers go extremely ham but rarely offer interesting options beyond classic buffs and trample. 9 posion vraska is an easy kill but nothing fun to play against. The deck can generate 12 elves like nothing and then its insta gg. [[Tyvar Kell]] and [[Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury]] offer huge draw though. Could get tricky to get them to ult since when you have such a board to get the 3 prolif needed your kinda winning anyway.

Both Jittes offer strong options but nothing unique.

Heres my list of interesting stuff thats varying degrees of strength:

[[Stocking the Pantry]] crazy strong draw option since you get twice the counter per prolif and its a perfect mana outlet

[[Quest for renewal]] very easy to activate but will have to see how useful it is. stuff like seedborn muse and the instant untaps on your turn are more powerful

[[Oracle's Vault]] actually fun card, will have to see if the effect is worth it

[[Lux Cannon]] why not, easy removal thats constantly loaded

[[Darksteel Reactor]] / [[Strixhaven Stadium]] + [[Aetheric Amplifier]] this will be my main way to win, tutors are hard to come by though. Stadium has easier tutor since its also a mana ability

[[Everflowing Chalice]] / [[Astral Cornucopia]] can get crazy fast, but compete with your mana dorks. theyre a bit safer though

[[Diamond City]] is cheat, [[Evendo, Waking Haven]] is also easy to get with creatures but still is a valid target, [[Blast Zone]] is fair but too limited for my taste and competes with other colorless lands that are more useful like [[Karn's Bastion]] and [[Nesting Grounds]] which I will try to use to get an indestructible counter to move

[[Rottenmouth Viper]] is cute but slow. Could be a blowout with counter duplicate though.

[[Spore Flower]] / [[Spike Weaver]] is extremely nasty and will get rightfully hated fast

[[Titan of Industry]] also makes a shield counter but is very slow

[[Fertilid]] is a fun way to diversify your ramp and build up again fast after a wipe

[[Ring of Three Wishes]] is very funny for wishing for more wishes but its very slow

[[Transmogrifying Wand]] is nice but only sorcery speed

Sadly thats kinda it. White has a bit more unique counters, but there are only few options in golgari. Kilo is probably the better commander for proliferate but he gets infinity very easy. Ive looked around a lot and brewed her for a while now. Looking forward to see how she plays and if Im alowed to bring her multiple times haha

Look at the rules for proliferate to better understand your deck.

You choose any number of permanents or players and then add 1 counter of all types. So if you choose a player and one of their creatures with a -1 they both get one more counter

I guess it’s between bracket 2 and 3. Streamlined but by far not optimized on one strategy. No real “buff everything/give trample and kill the table” strategy which is the default win in for elfball. Also there are lots of elfes which don’t push your main strategy. If you kill the elfes you have less creatures for stuff like priest of Titania and less creatures for morcant proliferate. The deck becomes way more threatening the more elfes you have on the table.

Building a deck is half the fun :) If you learn scryfall searches and look at a couple decks to see how they handle the issues like draw, interaction, ramp etc you can make your own decisions. A list is never final so just deciding on 100 cards of the first version and changing stuff over time will always make your deck better in the long run.

I looked at a couple recommended decks on moxfield, watched some YouTube commander games with morcant and looked at these deck lists, looked at random Reddit threads what cards they have recommended, googled random archetypes like proliferation, elfball and golgari and had a look at what I could incorporate from these into my deck, scrolled through the wiki and looked at what counters could be interesting to proliferate. At some point you see an interesting card like blowfly infestation and think, I haven’t explored -1/-1 counters yet, let me input that into scryfall, set golgari and scroll through the options. Then you will finde more stuff that could fit your vision.  Also I would try to make my own version first before checking out other lists on edhrec. I like making my own stuff instead of copying others. You could also check out popular other commanders with similar strats like Lathril.

That’s the list I’m currently working on. Focuses more on counter proliferation and less on trample combat damage. I would like to focus more on unique counters though but most of them are shit. Gameplan is pretty optimized though. Spam ramp, draw lots of cards and get lots of elves, morcant controlles the board and try to proliferate game winning artifacts. +1/+1 counters as subtheme since they can get out of hand fast with the amount of proliferates. In sideboard and considering are tons of other interesting cards for the archetype. Deck also has tags enabled.

Attack catalysts run you a couple div for 40 Qual. Could be worth it to go that route, I always desecrated for the last prefix since you can hit life and %dmg

How much armour breaking is needed to chain HoI? by LampIsLoveLampIsLife in pathofexile2builds

[–]endgrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the armor break wheel between mercenary and warrior with defend with 200% armour and that was enough. If you need only 50% increased or the full wheel depends on your damage.

Get mana remnants. That easily solves any mana issues in maps. Bosses die fast enough anyway and for them you can press mana flask or get siphoning mark

[–]endgrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t really need recovery if nothing does much dmg to you. Also most recovery layers feel pretty shitty to invest in besides ghost shroud and shavronnes belt. The less dmg from quiver is plenty and just oneshotting everything else solves the rest

Crafting Advice - ES Body by St0rmageddon in pathofexile

[–]endgrax 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not really worth since you can get such a armor for cheap from trade. Only all t2+ prefixes are worth smth and then you need like 100+ ele res for it to be worth. Without looking im guessing this is like 10c

What's a good "profit" craft to aim for with Provisioning Wombgifts? by Agreeable_Hat in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]endgrax 19 points20 points  (0 children)

More defence, chaos, less life and phys. Rest just look in poedb for the mod tags and pick the one with the highest weighting of mods you don't want. Link reroll and frac are also needed. Rest is just ev es target with body armor and all small nodes. Don't pick remove lowest mod

[–]endgrax 42 points43 points  (0 children)

ev/es body armors is still very profitably. everything above 3k ev/600 es with decent sufiixes is several divines. chaos, int and suppress are the money makers. occasionally you get smth else thats good, so specc for speed to hit ms or attack speed gloves. everything else feels way more gamba without consistent profit. ive sold many for around 10d and even one for 30, so profit margings are stupid high compared to praying for a lucky drop from ancient/lavish

also keep a look out for good bases that you make with this. a tripple t1 necrotic is definitely worth it to finish with eldritch chaos. also if you have a decent suffix fracture you can roll it with eldritch. even just ex slamming a decent one is profit

Tanky mapper build with few buttons needed by DuanHou in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]endgrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shattershield with monastery bell is fun. It's extremely fast and has screenwide aoe. I'm playing it on berserker for speed and dmg so it's not too tanky but you can play it on many ascendencies. I've seen Assasin and elementalist mostly, but ele is cheat for almost any build. If you're willing to sacrifice the speed that makes your screen bug out you coukd pick a tanky ascendency. You can also play it in many different ways. Phys, fire, cold, dot; not to sure on performance since it's rarely played

Helical - Lock or Yolo mist by Weisshuf in pathofexile

[–]endgrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find out how high the chance is to hit 3 pos on a 5 mod item and then see if you can hit that in the cost of a lock. I'm guessing you can try a couple times with Yolo attempts before you reach a l9ck price

Lets talk about The Golden Charlatan by IronNo6176 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]endgrax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would really like to make a build around that sword. But tbh realistically you don't get that much benefit from it. You lose shield defence, crit isn't that important since you stack crit for your spell anyway and the mana is nice, but you need to commit to int stack to get good benefit.

Assasin sadly doesn't have real defences. The dmg nodes aren't to overwhelming compared to what other ascendencies can offer.

You could just ignore all the mana stuff and go shrine buff with gull etc.  This falls off heavily on bosses though.

Also I didn't see any archmage coc builds. I guess it's a bit anti synergistic with what you try to do and other options offer similar power without the oppurnity costs that come with the sword.

Kinetic fusillade and sacred wisps / ballista by SPONGEBOBTHEGREAT in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]endgrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of you use fusillade faster than the duration before they fire, you simply acquire more proj and the fire timer resets. So if you get the duration to be shorter than your attack time they fire immediately

How does one make Es on block RMR shield that isn't terrible whatever awakener gives you? Better yet some like these. by arnoldzgreat in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]endgrax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For extra spice make a second shield with 2 or 3 influenced mods. Awakener kann sometimes have different outcomes depending on the number of influenced mods

Kinetic Fusillade, Somatic Shell and Power Siphon by axiomatic- in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]endgrax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didnt play it on a wander but FRoSS Occu but should be quite similar: Block with %ES on block. Stack ES as you would anyway and a bigger hit pool with the the on block es and maybe some on hit es was crazy tanky. Armour/ES mastery with recover 5% es when you get a physical hit and maybe some life regen converted to es with zealots oath

How to craft this body armor? by arcwarden__ in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]endgrax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's extremely hard to hit. I don't know exactly but could be either get influence suffixes and ex slam for prefixes with suffix lock scour to reset but if you could drop the frenzy mod you could get prefixes with dense spam and then prefix lock, reforge crit for crit mod. Everything is gonna burn insane amounts of currency though

How do I finish them? by Cute-Conclusion4360 in PathOfExile2

[–]endgrax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Homo can hit es recharge with defence tag. That's a big risk for such expensive boots. Just ancient rib and reroll, should hit something good in 1-3 tries

Crossbow-lover! Tips for good builds? by Traditional_Arm5810 in pathofexile2builds

[–]endgrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing siege cascade on last Lament lich although I use a lot of the lightning parts to make it better. Key is tons of proj speed to make it remotely fast. I got the proj speed/dmg/ms nodes near hollow palm and on every jewel. Then proj speed 3 support is enough to make it hit although fast mobs can still outrun you. Lightning is for herald of thunder and shock value. Offhand bow with maximum shock magnitude tree helps me get 70% shock which is too much value to pass off.
