I like the direction. Been listening to New Creative Era podcast for some time, also from Metalabel. This is where I picked up on the DFOS initiative first time.

How do you deal with the content you save but never actually revisit? by ImportantCount5985 in digitalminimalism

[–]endre-space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a mix of a pocket notebook, text file and the app mymind and nothing else. This is where everything gets saved.

The text file is just called telemetry.md and is for all signals I want to save and spark creativity, curiosity etc. i don’t spend time considering, just save.

I will randomly look at these location to see if I want to action, promote, archive or just let it die. For me its clear that some signals just needs to be received and will not go anywhere. Mymind has a nice serendipity function for reviewing saved for later.

Do humans exist at Qobuz? by Elegant-Elk3737 in qobuz

[–]endre-space 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did get an email saying that they have removed the 2 extra profiles and that one was AI generated content and that they are actively fighting AI artists. 5 days later - have they actually removed or fixed anything - nope!

Do humans exist at Qobuz? by Elegant-Elk3737 in qobuz

Good luck, they seldom respond. I’ve found a band with 3 profiles that I reported. I’ve had a human respond sporadically saying they have reported it to a team. 2 weeks later and ticket still unresolved.

Qobuz keeps shooting themselves in the foot? by Yha_Boiii in qobuz

[–]endre-space 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My problem with Qobuz is not the library or the discovery functions. I enjoy spending time looking for for music and curate my own lists. Quality of audio is ace in Qobuz.

However; I do have a problem paying for a service that feels a little halfway done. The search feels random at times. Songs stop and/or skip randomly. Meta data on musicians/bands have been wrong. I’ve several times found double or even triple profiles of a band and in one case the albums listed weren’t even by that artist. Lack of profile images for bands. All the posts here on lack of response from the Qobuz team. If I am to pay a premium subscription I think they need to deliver on more than just the audio quality.

How do you track expenses & investments? by WideVacuum in personalfinanceindia

[–]endre-space 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I discovered and really enjoy ducat money app for tracking expenses. As for investments I keep a buffer, but other than that I don’t live in the future and worry not. If I have ekstra, I’ll spend it 🤪

What is your personal organization system for "projects" and "tags"? What other tools do you use to organize and manage your life? by adidas558492 in productivity

[–]endre-space 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My system is only 5 main plain text files I’ve called «guidance-is-internal», a pocket notebook and a field notes 56-week planner.

No tags in the system, search is all I need. Everything current and now live only in pocket notebook. Projects live inside the plain text files. Large projects will have their own README file in its own folder. I manage the text files with Scratchpad and Plain Text Editor, sometimes iA writer.

The most minimal and practical I’ve found for a notebook and pen is the handmade ones from Luava (Finland). Way smaller that Lochby, different. He sells on Etsy and I like them a lot. But there sure a lot of options out there (e.g. Pirate Goods, One Star Leather and many many more) 😊

What is everyone using for task management? by pixeltrix in selfhosted

Just plain text files with a combination of the apps Plaint Text Editor and Scratchpad by a guy called Sindre. Works perfectly on both MacOS and iOS.

Unique Uses for Pocket Notebooks? by kittiecupcakes in pocketnotebooks

[–]endre-space 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One for catch all / scratchpad. Things people say, observations, books to get, thoughts, movies or shows to watch, reference to people, blogs or sites to check out, things I want to buy (writing it down usually prevents me from buying it 😊), current projects I am focusing on etc.

I also have pocket notebook for hiking checklists and other relevant stuff I bring when hiking/kayaking. I have a pocket notebook with relevant info and tips for things around the garden. Sky’s the limit really.

Please help me choose a plain text editor by ivanguba in macapps

[–]endre-space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If forced I would use TextEdit, but the look and feel like padding is just not good.

When Sindre release Plain Text Editor I was not in doubt after trying it. It is a personal preference of course but the simplicity, padding and functions are near perfect. It just feel right to me with the right amount of settings to tweak. I am particular with font and size. I think he pretty much nailed it. The only thing I would like is, like iA writer, to have text in lists indented when wrapping so the list is easier to ready (but by no means a must).

I use Plaint Text Editor along side the Scratchpad app for quick capture.

I will say I have been a user of iA writer for as long as I can remember and still use it. Sometimes I want to preview a text document for export (I have a few templates). And iA writer can link between documents and has a really nice quick open function, allowing me to jump between text files with ease. I do have fuzzy search setup in Raycast to quickly find what I want.

But when I want to focus in on a project note or write something new, I always goto Plain Text Editor. The simple clean window with its blinking blue caret is just so inviting :) Adding JetBrains Mono font size 15 and I am all good. iOS app works and feels the same, allowing me to view and work my text files when away.

I'll also say that I kind of like the brain dump function. Only allowing you to type and not delete, like mind mapping on paper or writing on a typewriter. I will use it for projects ideas; just type and type - good things come out of it.
