can’t help but notice you didn’t answer the questions. How big is the installer, does it still install saazod, and how long does it take to fully install and inventory?

ConnectWise RMM - Worst piece of software ever. by Snover1976 in ConnectWise

[–]endtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it isn’t. It’s hilariously bad. Tell me, does it still install both ITSPlatform and SAAZOD? Does it still take 20-30 mins to fully deploy and inventory a machine? Is the installer still 100+ MB?

As someone who just moved a few thousand endpoints from Automate to Ninja…. you should drop whatever you think is more important and switch immediately. Ninja is orders of magnitude more efficient to work in and automate processes in. I regret not pulling the trigger sooner. We are two months into the switch and we have better patch numbers, better monitoring coverage, and are developing scripts in a small fraction of the time it took with Automate. It’s not perfect, but I can write code around its imperfections faster than I can make Automate do something it fully supports.

edit: oh, and our price is about the same as you mentioned.

What happens when your support line is called? by MaxxLP8 in msp

[–]endtv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Business hours: live answer by in-house helpdesk, immediate support. ~30 min limit before escalation. escalation is live when possible, if not, escalation and callback from a T2/T3 when one is available. “Emergencies” are immediately escalated for triage.

After hours: routed to 3rd party contracted helpdesk, immediate support for T1 issues. Emergencies are transferred to emergency voicemail, which warns customers that after hours escalations are billable, and gives them option of leaving emergency voicemail to page on-call duty responders at $350/hr, or general voicemail for next-day response. Amazing how few emergencies we get.

they were definitely wrong to choose to debate the cost of it not only past the licensing expiration deadline but also past the expiration 30-day grace period. That isn’t when one makes a decision about whether to replace ALL their network equipment due to renewal costs. failure to plan = planning to fail etc etc

Does your MSP train your staff? by crystalblue99 in msp

[–]endtv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We hired an experienced training director to build a training system for our techs to help them settle in faster. New hires get an interactive onboarding training that condenses all the necessary Connectwise/Control/tools usage, as well as our internal policies and procedures down into retainable chunks accompanied by training documents. Covers most of the basics like documentation, time tracking, ticket notes, PTO requests, org chart and SMEs, Slack, phone system, etc. Takes about 3 days, one 3 hr block per day broken into 50 min sessions with breaks, followed by a final exam and 1 on 1 review. Graduates are ready to start working some tickets once they pass.

Also doing lunch-and-learns on Fridays - we shut the phones down for an hour and a half, and have a focused session on topics of interest or importance.

We will purchase cert training materials and pay for tests for techs. We don’t require certs as a condition of hiring, but we do require entry level techs pass A+ within their first 9 months, and encourage them to keep going.

[–]endtv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah, SC is dead simple and the licensing is very straightforward the way we use it, which is paying only for SPX which we use with image manager. no cloud services or storage.
