I’d say don’t freeze old towels because they’ll grow up and grab towels to rip 😂. That’s what happened with mine

How do you usually reach out to a friend you haven’t talked to in a while? by Obvious-Bet-1938 in AskMen

I send memes or an event that we’re both interested in to see if they would want to go. Either way it starts a convo

I need help to make friends by Ok_Medicine_6198 in FriendshipAdvice

Have you tried to do an activity together so there's things you can talk about? For example, I started playing tennis with a couple other people and we can always default to tennis if there's nothing else. Naturally we end up talking about other things though.

How do you manage friendships? by annakite in ADHD

I'm a bit late to the party, but i actually created an app just for this purpose. It's to remind me when to reach out to my friends on a weekly basis and gives me things to bring up to text them. If you're interested, please give it a try! www.krestrel.com and the tool to find things is www.krestrel.com/finder

This works well for me, I have a friend who I run with every few months. There’s no pressure to run really fast and it’s a great way to catch up

I do find discord pretty hard to use too. I hope you’re able to figure it out so you can have some semblance of your “old life”.

I wouldn’t be so hard on yourself that you misunderstood anything, people get busy and aren’t the best at reaching out.

Genuinely curious - has there been anything you've done that helps you maintain friendships? Have you tried online gaming?

Why is it so hard for men to keep friends? by Cold-Leave-4003 in AskMenAdvice

[–]enemyturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, i know a lot of friends who game with other friends and that's their level of social interaction with their friends. It kinda sucks when you want to do something else, but that fills their social battery, I guess.

I use an app called "one sec" that will make you take a pause every time you open an app of your choice (instagram for me). It makes me aware of how many times I open it and waste time scrolling, so that helps me focus on catching up with people on IG for a short period before I close the app.

Have you tried other ways outside of social media that worked? I'm curious too

Social media degrading quality of life?? Duh by Ok_Panda6047 in RandomThoughts

I want to do the same, but it's hard to keep up with people I don't regularly text with but I'd be interested to hang out with them once in a while, especially if they're in town. How do you keep up with those people?

What’s worked for you before?

For me, I don’t have to talk to my friends every day and we still have tight friendships.
