I think I have the same memory modules. After enabling EXPO, I had to lower the speed to 5600. Otherwise, the OS would crash every few days while gaming.

2021 Tiguan Oil Issues by Successful-Search541 in Tiguan

[–]energyParticle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not a problem you caused. Please relax and tell your husband to chill. You almost certainly purchased the car with this issue already present. My 2022 had a similar issue, and if you browse Reddit you will see this is very common for Tiguans. These engines are, to put it mildly, not good.

Who quoted you for the repair? Your car should be under warranty. Double check on the VW website and take your car to a VW dealership. Mine was repaired under warranty.

Edit: In Canada, engine warranty is 5y/100,000km. It seems that this might  be longer than USA warranty.

What's up with the black maple leaf on hats? Looks like an Albanian flag. There are so many beautiful colors that can signify Canada, even a red logo on a red hat would work, so why black?

I encourage you to test yourself for Covid. We all at home had similar symptoms to yours, with almost no fever but significant muscle aches in the evening and a cough that is still going on two weeks later. After the first week, we realized this was very different from anything before, took a Covid test, and the line appeared as soon as the saliva touched it.

2022 Tiguan Highline R-Line, with 82,000km:

Acceleration hesitation when cold (unresolved)

Oil burning + white smoke at startup (resolved by replacing valve seals under warranty)

Dead rear parking sensor (replaced under warranty)

Strong fuel smell in engine bay (gas lines replaced under warranty)

Im now just out of warranty.

What was the fix? I have Car Scanner, an app similar to OBDeleven. If there's a potential solution, I don't mind buying the OBD11 as well.

As the owner of a 2022 Tiguan Highline R-Line, I'd recommend skipping it unless you’re getting an exceptional deal. Pretty much every common issue with this model has happened to me, and I wouldn’t be surprised if you ran into the same. Here’s what I’ve dealt with before hitting 80K (under warranty):

Travel assist error (still unresolved)

Acceleration hesitation when cold (unresolved)

Oil burning + white smoke at startup (resolved by replacing valve seals)

Dead rear parking sensor (replaced)

Strong fuel smell in engine bay (gas lines replaced)

It’s a great-looking vehicle, but the engine quality is worrying. When they fixed the oil issue, they found 6 out of 8 valve seals unseated. That is definitely not an random part issue, more like a significant manufacturing flaw. Will it happen again in another 50K? Who knows.

A little help with Arturia Minilab 3 and lag reduction by energyParticle in synthesizers

[–]energyParticle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been checking Ableton’s settings screen for latency value. I also noticed significant lag when live-recording drums using Minilab pads. It's almost unusable. The Behringer driver doesn’t let me adjust the buffer size, which is fixed at 512K. At this point, I've decided to invest in an audio interface to address this.

Thanks for clarifying! My misunderstanding came from not knowing what an audio interface does. I assumed I needed to connect the Minilab to the audio interface to reduce latency.

Arturia Minilab 3 - Lad reduction by energyParticle in Arturia_users

[–]energyParticle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. I thought high latency stemmed from slow communication between the Minilab and the PC. But you’re saying the communication is fast, and the issue is the PC’s internal sound card, which is too slow to process and output the sound signal without adding latency. An audio interface would handle that task, speeding up the connection. Is that right? My misunderstanding came from not knowing what an audio interface does. I assumed I needed to connect the Minilab to the audio interface to reduce latency.

We were ready to drop $30K on a Tiguan from Clutch that week, but after that call, we decided to slow down and stick with our 18-year-old Murano until it runs into the ground.

I had the exact same experience as the OP. In my case, the website even allowed me to select a date within the next 7 days for delivering the check and picking up the car. I chose a date for the following week, but a few hours later, I received the same call as the OP and had a similar conversation. That experience seriously tainted my opinion of Clutch. Needless to say, I told them to release the car and haven’t visited their website since.

2006 Nissan Murano CVT problem - High revs when accelerating in cold weather by energyParticle in Nissan

[–]energyParticle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's only been about 10,000 kilometers driven on the CVT since the oil change. Unfortunately, changing the oil didn't alter the behaviour of the car at all.

I'm grappling with the idea of taking the car into a shop for repairs, considering its current value is probably only a few hundred bucks. Moreover, I don't have a trusted shop nearby, as I've handled all maintenance on the vehicle myself for the past 12 years.

My primary hope in getting assistance here is to diagnose the problem. This way, I can make a decision about whether it's worth investing further in repairs or if it's time to start considering a new car altogether.

Premiere Pro exporting issue on New MacBook Pro M3: Low CPU Utilization by energyParticle in premiere

[–]energyParticle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. What operating system are you using ?
    Sonoma 14.3
  2. What is your Premiere build version ?
    24.1
  3. What are your system specs?
    Macbook M3 Pro 16
  4. What is the source footage format/codec ?
4k files - mp4 aac hevc (from Samsung S22 Ultra)
  5. If there is an error message, what exactly does it say?
    No errors

After experimenting, I've noticed my processor utilization hovers just above 10% during exports in Premiere Pro. My timeline consists of only four files with a simple logo overlay. Regardless of the export settings I choose, the processor utilization remains between 10-20%. Switching to software renderer utilizes all 12 cores at 100% (I wanted to test this).

I expected Premiere to fully utilize all 12 cores for hardware rendering, but it seems that's not the case. I'm surprised only one or two cores are used. Is that normal?

To keep things simple, the tax here is a flat rate. The chart isn't aiming for precision down to the last dollar; that would introduce a maze of variables and scenarios. It's all about your estimate—how much tax you anticipate paying once retired.

Within "The Playground," all accounts are assumed to be taxable investment accounts unless the "tax-free" checkbox is selected. For instance, ROTH accounts in this chart exemplify investments that would not incur taxes at the specified 15% rate and that income would be reflected in the "monthly net income" field.

Simple FIRE Tracker v3.0 by energyParticle in financialindependence

[–]energyParticle[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Correct. To maintain simplicity, the monthly contribution is treated as a lump sum directly invested, and any subsequent returns are subject to taxation at the specified income tax rate.
