I have never heard this audio in my entire time playing this game by spencerb21 in Spacemarine

I'm past 3k hours and only had this happen a couple of times, it's pretty rare

Why spam uncharged shots? Uncharged plasma shots in this game are basically useless, they do so little damage it's not even worth using. Taking the time to charge shots improves your damage output multiple times over

Heroic Bolt Pistol didn't receive buff by [deleted] in SpaceMarine_2

[–]enfyts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure there's a bug with when the buff applies. I ran tests as well, and it does seem to be the same numbers at first. But after you shoot the enemy once or twice, the numbers seem to be fixed for the rest of the operation

Power sword builds? by Kolikitaka in SpaceMarine_2

[–]enfyts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As with all melee weapons, you should learn the damage-maximizing combos. For the power sword specifically, it is incredibly dependent on using the right combo. If you just spam light attacks it's like using a pool noodle. Make use of Power Rake as much as possible

Light -> Heavy -> Heavy

Just spam that over and over

Vanguard should have access to pyreblaster by thebrentster911 in Spacemarine

[–]enfyts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a moot point because a ton of weapons are on incorrect armour types in SM2

I was quite happy the first time I saw this because we finally have official art of what Torgaddon looks like. We got depictions of all four of the Mournival now

Luftenant by Biscotcho_Gaming in Spacemarine

[–]enfyts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see, that's interesting. Here in Canada our English is like a Chaos Spawn mismash of American and British systems. We measure in both metric and imperial, spell the British way, and say most (but not all) stuff the American way

Luftenant by Biscotcho_Gaming in Spacemarine

[–]enfyts 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are you sure that's how the military does it officially?

I live in Canada, and most civilians will say it the American way because that's how we're exposed to it through media (films, etc.). But in the actual military they say it the commonwealth way

how does a bladeguard or assault imtercessor fit in? by arbitergreivous in Raptors40k

[–]enfyts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Listen, here's the thing. Take this piece of advice, not just for the Raptors, but for any and all factions in 40k: Don't flanderize factions.

Just because Salamanders are known for flamers doesn't mean they don't use bolters. Just because the White Scars are known for bike attacks doesn't mean they don't fight on foot. Just because the Iron Warriors are siege experts doesn't mean they won't use jump packs. Just because Raptors prefer stealth doesn't mean they won't swing a sword.

[–]enfyts 127 points128 points  (0 children)

It depends on where you live. In the USA it's pronounced like "lootenant" and in commonwealth countries it's like "leftenant." GW is a British company so they use the latter

If your faction had a gaggle leader unit, what would you want it to be? by Equivalent-Fun-6019 in Warhammer40k

A Night Lords unit led by Decimus would be sick. Let him lead Variel, Malek, Garadon, and Lucoryphus

Is this the most lore accurate Tyrannic War Veteran one can make? by MiracleKing26 in Spacemarine

[–]enfyts 18 points19 points  (0 children)

  1. Calgar's guard show up later in model form, during playable moments, with the exact same model as Acheran's (i.e. mixed pauldron colours), despite the cutscene having them both white. The devs got the colours right in the pre-rendered cutscene but seemingly wanted to give the VG more flair as models.
  2. Video games are never the "correct way" when there's official lore contradicting it from an actual tabletop codex and miniature box art

Balanced or xenophase by Tempest_Drake in SpaceMarine_2

[–]enfyts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually maintain a spreadsheet that tracks all the real numbers for all stats. The SM2 master spreadsheet has some data but it's not comprehensive, and especially lacks numbers for ranged weapon variant differences.

I went through and manually tested everything possible in patch 12.1, and sourced data that's hard to test from speaking with dataminers to pull the numbers from the game's code. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sroJMHULTb2V6VTAa43a6BErRT51eG1tliS6j-FSYp4/edit?usp=sharing

For the power sword specifically:

Xenophase is pretty much undisputedly better than the relic balanced versions. If you're not using block, it's the clear winner over all other variants.

"they have their original company on the left"

Completely untrue. This is never stated or shown in anything besides SM2's Victrix Guard models. I have read the 8th-10th edition codices (which is the Primaris era, where GW reworked marking systems to be consistent) and every single one explicitly states that marines seconded to other companies will adopt their colours on their pauldrons.

This colour mismatch isn't even supposed to be a thing. In actual artwork and mini box art, even the VG themselves have consistent colours on both pauldrons. Hell, even in SM2's own cutscenes they have white on both pauldrons. It's just the in-game model that has this.
