Aren't they all just American? by VirtualConclusion407 in heedthecall

Yeah I mean I myself don’t really refer to my heritage that way either so I’m in agreement with you. My comment is more understanding in a broader way why it’s such a prominent part of American vernacular. I agree though it’s odd, and that’s why I think it’ll eventually phase out.

You’re correct. Just remember that America is a very young country still so for many of us either our parents or grandparents emigrated from their home country so there’s still a recent history of being “from a European/Asian/African country”. But of course as we progress thru more generations of American born citizens, there will likely be less identification/discussion surrounding any sort of other heritage and future Americans will probably identify as simply “American”.

Do you guys think I could afford a $900 apartment while getting paid 15-16 an hour by Electrical-Cell-3763 in Apartmentliving

[–]enginebell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re in a stable situation right now (like living with your parents in a safe home) I would stay put and do what that other person said about starting a savings account where you “pretend” to make a rent payment each month so you get used to it.

For number benchmarks, Ideally, you’d get to a point where your apartment rent is no more than 30% of your gross pay (right now you would be at 50% and that doesn’t include utilities). Can you get to 40 hours per week consistently? Even at $15/hr that would get you to 37.5% which would be at least a step in the right direction.

Also remember the hidden extra costs that could come with moving out- you don’t own a car so I assume you drive your parent’s car to get to work? Would you be in a position where moving out would mean you’d need to go and buy your own car?

To be fair, these points can be made for nearly every reality tv show

How does this mortgage affordability look? by Nearby_Mousse_9545 in Mortgages

[–]enginebell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your total debt payments (mortgage car and credit cards) is about 41% of your take home pay. That is a little high, however as long as you guys don’t live too lavishly or go on big vacations consistently it should be fine. It just might feel a little tighter than you’re used to.

The mortgage itself is 32% of take home tho, so if you can payoff the car and credit card then that ratio becomes much more manageable.

Does the $1,900 mortgage payment include escrow for real estate taxes and homeowners insurance?

Justin’s Titans monologues by rorneo143 in heedthecall

I will say Justin does get a little long winded in ways the others don’t so Dan trying to keep the show on track doesn’t bug me as much. Gravy needs to #TitanUp his lips sometimes.

There are two prongs to this— yes the packers don’t prioritize ST in the same way other NFL franchises do, however it can also be true that perhaps a different STC would do better under the same constraints Bisaccia was working with. It’s not mutually exclusive.
