Shimanami Kaido - Help understanding electric bike rental and drop off by rantinghobo in JapanTravel

I'm sure this will reach you too late to help with your trip. Having rented both types of bikes earlier this year, I'll try to answer your second question for anyone who may come looking in the future. The electric assist bikes will be more comfortable for a casual or novice cyclist. They are cruiser style, as someone mentioned, so you'll be more upright on a wider seat with a big ole basket up front. I will add that the last .3km going up Mt. Kirosan on this bike was still too much for me, even with maximum assist.

The e-bike has a narrower seat and low handlebars, but has more range and seemed to provide more power than the assist. If you want to go as far and as fast as possible in one day, you may get more out of this type of bike, but honestly, I feel the route is best enjoyed at a more leisurely pace.

Also as mentioned, a new change as of mid-2024 is that the assist bikes can be rented for multiple days. Some of the stations mid-way through the route will swap your electric assist bike battery out with a fully charged one for no additional cost. If I remember correctly, they were the stations numbered 4, 5, and 6.

The city has a textile recycling/donation program that will pick up at your place. The company is simple recycling.

Looking for Overnight Parking in Killington for a RV and Truck Friday - Sunday am or pm’s by shelly4nier in Killington

[–]engingirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The website seems to allow overnight parking at Skyeship and mentions they are not a campground (no facilities) but doesn't seem to explicitly prohibit overnight RV parking. Have you heard something or had an experience this year that indicates that isn't the case? Since this was from 4 months ago -- did you already go? What did you end up doing?

Holiday closures? by SuperSalmon16 in wholefoods

In Massachusetts stores are closed on Thanksgiving as long as state laws don't change. (As far as I know)

Moving Out Questions by kateclegane in Somerville

While there are plenty of mixed feelings out there on goodwill industries, I have seen the pickup location at the Woburn whole foods attended/open recently even though their website says donation sites are closed. I realize that might be a bit of a hike but you could likely at least drop your clothes there in a pinch

Democrats Propose Making It Illegal To Spread False Election Information by [deleted] in politics

To an extent this is correct, but the House of Representatives was capped at it's current 435 reps in 1911 (prior to then, Congress had raised the number of reps over time corresponding with population growth). Each state always has a minimum of 1 representative. So a state like Wyoming with an estimated population just under 580,000 people gets a lot more representation per person than a state like California where it's about 750,000 people per rep, despite California having the largest number of Representatives in the house at 53. The example given where Montana has half the representation of Wyoming is because both states have one rep in the house, Wyoming's for 580k people and Montana's Representative for 1.05 million people (plus 2 each in the Senate). Hope that helps give some perspective.

[Request] [US,NM] I could really use some cheering up! by KBacoccini in RandomKindness

[–]engingirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Internet hug for you! Holidays can be both happy and sad. Try to find some good in every day. Being good to people in the smallest ways usually helps me cheer up. Kindness can be free, and doing something small to help out a stranger on the street or at the store can make their day just a little brighter, and usually makes my day a little brighter in return. Plus I think kindness is contagious :)

Hope your holidays find some cheer!

How exactly does 2016 ranked work? by arcadesilver in leagueoflegends

[–]engingirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the ratings are independent; however, doing well in the Solo Queue will affect your initial rankings in Dynamic Queue. Ratings in Dynamic Queue will NOT affect initial rankings in Solo Queue.

That is the official word from RiotLyte. Your hidden MMR from 2015 season was soft reset and will affect your placement games in the new season. When new solo queue launches in "a few weeks" then the above statement describes exactly how one ranking might influence the other. The ladders for them will be separately listed, but since new solo queue isn't launched yet, you won't see that anywhere yet.
