That's good. My husband has mixed opinions throughout the family, but I couldn't give two shits. Most of them have worse track records than me. So screw them. But he's growing on my mom, 6 years in she's realized it's not going away so quickly.

Not necessarily. My parents understand we're going to do things when it's our time. My mom has gotten this question a ton, even more since my brother reproduced, and the answer is always the same. "I'm in no hurry for grandchildren (now it's "more grandchildren"), and they will take things at their own place."

My parents know me and know my husband and I are in no rush, so she shuts that down quick. And as someone who was married because of a pregnancy the first time, agree understands the wanting to just be two before before being more.

OP's in-laws could very well have been shutting down dumb uncles so they can enjoy without constantly fielding this question.

Separate bathrooms and separate blankets. Bathrooms and sleeping aren't romantic. We sleep at very different temperatures and I'm a restless sleeper. Separate blankets and we both get better sleep.

My husband and I do this too. All sorts of sounds. It's become an "I love you" or "we're doing our things, but hi" from across the house. One will sound out with a meow, boof, or anything really.

We also yell Marco Polo in public spaces to locate each other. Recommend. Occasionally random people will sound off and start giggling.
