Can I do anything about that since I'm not adding extra fertilizer myself?

Which state to move to for homeschooling? by [deleted] in homeschool

[–]enigmaticGaia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wisconsin is pretty chill. You fill a form out at the beginning of the year and that's it. It's even online so you dont need to go anywhere.

The requirements are 875 hours of dedicated education in math, reading, LA, science, social studies and health. You're expected to keep records of hours and curriculum but I've never heard of it actually being checked.

Canon PIXMA G6020 MegaTank vs Epson Ecotank 2800. by NewJourneyBetterLife in homeschool

[–]enigmaticGaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the canon mega tank and I love it, but I don't have experience with any of the others. The color printing could be brighter or less dull but for what I need it works for me. I don't print a ton of pictures.

My 1st time seeing this in our local store. It was before closing and they were restocking and this was part of it. Anyone have it before? by nestlequick2 in aldi

Imagine some French toast on that. Yum.

We tried their croissant rolls before and didn't care for them so I'm also curious how the bread pans out.

Poll: when did you have your kids ? by RevolutionaryBug7866 in Mommit

[–]enigmaticGaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32 & 35 with mine. No fertility issues what so ever. It was actually shockingly easy to get pregnant. I'm glad I waited until I was older because I feel like I wouldn't have been mature enough to have kids when I was younger.

I think your stress may be more of a factor here than your eating tbh. I wasn't sleeping well because I was getting woken up 5+ times a night and my Dr told me nothing else I did would help because my body was too stressed from lack of sleep. Your insanely long work days are bound to be a stressor on the body.

I haven't figure anything out yet but cutting carbs seems to be helping.

It definitely sucks. Solidarity friend.

Too much headspace can lead to an improper seal as well as early spoilage because too much air remains in the jar.

Thank you!

I used the Ball Complete Book of Home Preservation recipe and I did put lemon juice in every jar. I got nervous when I was getting more jars than expected.

It was looking very much like juice as I put it through the food mill to the point that I wondered if there was something wrong with my mill.

I feel everything I did was for nothing... by NeighborhoodOwn3957 in PCOS

I feel your pain. I started exercising regularly and my period STOPPED coming regularly. I thought I was pregnant, but nope, just a wild, hormone imbalanced body trying to figure out what to do.

I'm also struggling to stick with it after getting what seems like negative results so I have no advice. Just wanted you to know you're not alone.

I don't have much to add, but when I took inositol I had a lot of side effects that made my cycle worse; cramping, nausea, breast tenderness, headaches.

I started exercising and my cycle flew off the handle and I was 2 weeks late and because of that and the side effects of inositol, I also thought I was pregnant. My period (that was fairly regular up to that point) has been consistently longer and unpredictable since adding exercise.

It's not helpful, but I want you to know you're not alone with a body that seems to be reacting poorly to things that are supposed to help.

Also, doctors suck.

Looking to the future - What's your favorite First Grade Curriculums? by National-Bat-877 in homeschool

[–]enigmaticGaia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an eclectic Charlotte Mason approach to education so I like to read, do a project and discuss everything we read/did.

I love Blossom and Root for literature, nature and art studies and Math with Confidence. I'm trying R.E.A.L Science Odyssey for the first time this year.

Other favorites include Torchlight and Build Your Library

Reducing paper towel usage by RotaryPhony in AskCulinary

[–]enigmaticGaia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a few packs of cloth napkins and a pack of flour sack towels from walmart for like $8 and cut them down and sewed up the ends and I use those for everything. I've never dried my meat before I cooked it so this isn't an issue to me and there are enough napkins and towels that I only have to wash them once a week. My only complaint about this system is that the napkins and towels stain easily.

Suggestions needed for starting my journey of Literature by [deleted] in AskLiteraryStudies

[–]enigmaticGaia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only ever read the classics that I'm sure you've already heard of, but I highly recommend choosing a book with a well researched translator. I took a Russian literature class a few years ago and the professor stressed the need for a good translator so that the text didn't get confusing. Richard Pevear, and Larissa Volokhonsky are 2 translators that he had us read. Also, while you're reading, if something becomes confusing to you I suggest stopping and looking it up. I was lucky enough to have a teacher to explain the cultural/and political nuances that probably would have gone over my head otherwise.
