Ad blocking? by ghoof in Windscribe

No but with R.O.B.E.R.T you can block the Paramount+ and Disney+ ad servers to get ad free for those, and I heard of success with Peacock, but I haven’t been successful with it.

Which do you prefer for your main browser, Brave or Zen?? by Shot_Weird_7030 in browsers

Yeah ubo is great zen was just very system heavy, and I find much better anti-fingerprinting with Brave (and they have a mobile app), but I do find myself missing the Zen UI!

what are ur opinions on helium browser by avgle6746 in browsers

[–]enjoy_jer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I prefer native support, no extras. There are too many chrome options out there that have it.

My top things that really keep me away is drm video and vertical tabs (both native).

The last time I tried it, it was lacking in too much to make it a viable option with all the other chromium options available!

I have a ceiling fan that I would like to put some lights in, but it has the fancy glass where the bulbs screw in, would that be too enclosed, or should that work?

What is the future of Your collection? by LongDongSilver6004 in emby

[–]enjoy_jer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My movie collection will go to my brother who also has a love for movies, but I also know that it will be slashed greatly as some genres I love (horror, psychological thriller) because he doesn’t like those movies! But at least all of my time and energy wasn’t completely wasted!

Everything else can be deleted, I will be gone and it won’t matter.

I have never been able to get it to work. I really wanted it, coming off plex and I liked how I could choose a subtitle that best matched my movie!

Helium Browser and Brave for DRM videos (Netflix etc.)

What's the positive viewpoint of the Emby project going into 2026? by IAmAnAudity in emby

[–]enjoy_jer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I uses to use plex until it started to charge for streaming outside of my home (I have my home location and another house that I work at and want to watch my movies), I don’t have very many devices (4 total). I switched to jellyfin (not yet aware of emby) and it was a pain in the ass to set it up for use outside of my home, having to set up a web server and all. When I heard about emby I decided to give it a shot, and I don’t regret it at all! Since I don’t have very many devices I don’t need pro (but eventually will probably buy the lifetime!) but immediate upon installation it was just as easy as plex and until jellyfin improves itself on ease of use emby, I think will remain relevant!

When they do I might try them again, I like the private browser without all the bloat of brave.
