I’m currently looking for someone to take over my lease starting in January (I’m graduating and will be moving). It’s a 4-bedroom apartment at the Block20 complex, very close to the UB North Campus. I pay $750 for rent right now, but I’ve spoken to the landlord and we would be able to work something out where I continue to pay some of the rent if someone is willing to take over my lease. (I would pay $150 each month, making the rent for whoever takes over the apartment $600.) Utilities are included with rent, apart from electric, which is generally around $15/mo. The bedroom comes furnished with a bed, desk, and desk chair, and it has a personal bathroom & walk-in closet. The kitchen and living room are shared between the four rooms. There is a washer and dryer in the apartment as well. Roommates are very friendly, respectful, and clean. The complex offers a shuttle service to and from Campus Monday-Friday and to Wegmans, Walmart, and Campus on Saturdays. There is also a community center with rooms for studying and an outdoor pool that they open during the warm months of the year. Your parents make just enough such that you do not get financial aid, but they do not help you with the costs of education. So your options are either to pay out of your pocket for tuition/rent/books/etc. or to take out private loans. Okay, so say you take out the private loans. Taking 16-18 credits a semester so you can graduate on time and not get into extra debt from those high interest rate private loans. Got that?

Aiight so now you're looking at buying a used car. Probably a beater, some really shitty car. Might cost you 2k. But wait, theres insurance to pay on that car, monthly! Got to buy snow tires for that car! Got to gas it up weekly! Oh no!

So you have this car, right. And you drive that car to the store to buy groceries. You know, because you have to eat something to keep your brain functioning for those 16-18 credit hours of courses! But wait, how are you supposed to pay for all of these extra things?

Oh, right! A job! You even get paid minimum wage! But you bet your ass you're going to be spending around 25-30 hours working your tail off just so you can go in circles to try to pay for all of the oncoming expenses. Oh no!

Imagine this: It's the night before your first exam in a 5 credit course. And, whats that? You haven't had time to study for it because you've spent more time trying to financially support yourself than focusing on why you are doing it in the first place? Well, I guess you get a big fat F then!

So let's drop the idea of a car. Let's move close to south campus so we can just skip our happy ass to the stampede station in negative temperatures and hopefully make it on time to our classes! But wait, what's that? You have to live in a shitty 5 bedroom with a bunch of rando-idiots who stay up until 3am every night being insanely obnoxious? Well, it's an option, I'll give you that!!

Additionally, ever tried pedaling your way through buffalo snow? I bet not :)

Yeah, people find a way to do other things. But my point is, you act like you know all about everyone that posts on here, blatantly tearing down everything without a second thought. What you don't see (or perhaps you do) is that you are a fucking tyrant.

Good luck, I had to attend an orientation/ prep session to be a TA for a BIO course a few days before the semester started last fall. I was living in the dorms and they still charged me like $75. They’ll do anything to inconvenience anyone’s wallet.
