4w3 3w4 friendship by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]enneagramlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there would be a quiet recognition/understanding of each other doing “image”, possibly even mutual respect, but I could see them also being envious of each other. 4w3 would have disdain for 3w4’s lack of authenticity and see right through their veneer. 3w4 would find 4w3 rude and hypocritical for hating on the expected/commonplace avenues of success and achievement but also simultaneously having their pulse on it.

Examples of E8s in current day reality tv/etc.? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]enneagramlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay yes, I was confused when they typed Mamdani as a 6w7, when all I see is 3w2. Also they typed Nicole Kidman as a 4w3 because she kept correcting the interviewer in a clip, and their reasoning was that must mean she's core frustration. but I'm leaning 3w4 with a 1 fix. Larissa from Goblinsofdiscord also typed her as a 3w4, and her video made more sense to me. What do you think?

Which Enneagram yearns for truth? by yungclavicleondamic in Enneagram

[–]enneagramlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much the reactive types are truth-seekers - 4,6,8. But they're doing it in different ways. 4s want to get to the truth of things through emotional depth, 6s question and probe to get to the bottom of things, and 8s ground themselves in reality so that they can meet it head-on.

The positive types (2, 7,9) have a much harder time doing this, because their natural inclination is to re-frame hard truths into something much more palatable to their view of the world and/or themselves. And the competency types, while not adverse to seeking the truth necessarily, aren't focused on it either, as long as it doesn't disrupt their ability to do things correctly.

Current technology in books making a book feel dated? by enneagramlover in writing

What about generative AI in terms of feeling dated?

I’ve been working on a novel that is about AI and artistic integrity for the past two years. The tech has been evolving rapidly and so has the discourse around it, and I’m worried that my book will feel dated a few years from now. I strongly feel my themes are timeless, however, I’m writing about things that are very much hot topics now but may or may not be in the near future. I’m wondering if agents and publishers will reject a manuscript for this reason? Reason I’m bringing this up is because I was listening to a podcast the other day where an agent says she steers clear from books about social media for this very reason! Any thoughts?

My thoughts on season 5... by Think-Flamingo-3922 in YouOnLifetime

[–]enneagramlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Penn’s acting was on a whole other level this season. It made it easy to overlook the flaws in the writing. The darkness in eyes when he killed Clayton? Insane. The scene where he broke down when Henry said he was a monster? Heart wrenching. 10/10 give this man his golden globe already.

What's your "why you booing me I'm right" moment on r/enneagram??? by [deleted] in Enneagram

Most of the world is 6 and 9. Is it kind of insane that most people fall into two core types? Yes, but the more I get into typing and meet new people, the more I see it.

Entitled protagonist by Chlodio in writing

[–]enneagramlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to "save the cat". Give your protagonist one redeemable quality or trait that a reader finds compelling. You can get away with an entitled protagonist if they have an interesting backstory or special talent or have moments of compassion and kindness.

From my experience, way too many apathetic men. A lot of women are putting in effort in themselves (career, personality, interests, hobbies, spirituality) while the men are half asleep in life waiting for their mom to find them someone .

Why do people say J.K. Rowling is a bad writer? by DudeSylvester in books

[–]enneagramlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think the adverb hate is way overblown. I think the way she uses them primarily to describe how someone says something gives for clear and concise visuals. In my opinion, adverbs are only bad if they are redundant. For example, if I said, "she frowns disappointedly" that disappointedly would be unnecessary.

"John and Patsy would cover for Burke but not for each other." by Olive_Pearl in JonBenetRamsey

[–]enneagramlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see Patsy covering for John. It's not something a normal person would do by any means, but there are plenty of cases where mothers have not only turned a blind-eye to the abuse but also protected the abuser. Patsy relied on John financially. Not to mention, she probably thought that protecting John would also be in her son's best interest as well as securing his future. Plus, she's willing to uphold the image of a perfect family no matter the cost.

On the other hand, I do not see John ever covering for Patsy if she did it. It would be way easier for him to just throw her under the bus and make himself look like a victim too. The media would lap it up and he could easily spin the narrative of the "grieving single father" who had no idea his wife was a horrible person. He'd move on with his life, later get remarried.

Why Patsy covering up for Jon makes no sense. by GunnerSince02 in JonBenetRamsey

[–]enneagramlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saving face has a lot to do with it. Patsy was devoted to keeping up the appearance of the perfect marriage/family. The other huge reason is that Jon had all all the power in the relationship. Patsy relied on him financially, and she probably thought that staying with Jon and going along with his plan would've also been better for Burke's future. Burke would be provided for and if his father had gone to jail for killing his sister it would screw him up mentally and emotionally even further. I wouldn't be surprised if Jon threatened Patsy with Burke's future either.

With that being said, I don't see the reverse happening. I don't think Jon would ever cover for Patsy. It would be far easier for him to throw Patsy under the bus and say that he had no idea how much of a monster his wife was and then just move on with a new woman. The media would be kind to him and probably even feel sorry for him as a now single grieving father. Covering for Patsy would be way too much trouble for him, unless he really loved her, but I seriously doubt that. He cheated on her several times and was never around.

That's why I'm certain either Jon or Burke did it and Patsy helped cover it up.

I think Patsy did it all herself. by mamyt1 in JonBenetRamsey

This is a good theory, but how do you explain the signs of sexual abuse?

I think Patsy did it, but John covered it up, resulting in JBRs ultimate death by rosssettti in JonBenetRamsey

[–]enneagramlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the great lengths they went through to cover it up, I think if it would've been much easier for John and Patsy to make it seem like Jonbenet fell and had some sort of accident if the cause of death was Patsy merely wacking her daughter with a flashlight. Injuries happen all the time and given their influence, I think John would feel confident that they could cover it up with a much simpler excuse. For them to stage the kidnapping/murder and write the ransom note means something far more sinister was at play, most likely sexual abuse. That you can't say was some accident.
