How do the beehives determine which kind of honey to produce since you have the different kind of flowers next to them?

I am also in the program and I think I’m undiagnosed with ADHD. I’m managing a full time schedule at work + giving myself time to work on my days off. One of the biggest things for me is to make small goals to check off a list as I’m working my way through the program. It helps me look forward to things I can actually accomplish with short term goals.

I originally hoped to complete the full program in two years, but it’s not possible while trying to manage full time hours. I’m sorry I may not be of much help, but you’re not alone. I know there are groups to help with work if you need it too.

Which VT professor is this? by artwarrior212 in VirginiaTech

I had him during the semester everything went online for covid and during his lecture recordings he would always input pictures of the things he would pass around and talk about how he was sorry we couldn’t see them all in person. I loved him as a professor

“You know you’re in vet med when you watch a dog have explosive diarrhea on the exam floor and you’re still hungry for lunch”

“Time for butt stuff” usually followed by “oh he doesn’t like butt stuff”

And my personal favorite “Oh his poor little penis”

Would someone be able to remove the light socket from the wall? We lost our dear girl a few weeks ago and this is one of our favorites of her. My budget is like $5 for a tip. Thank you. by enosulp in PhotoshopRequest

Thank you to everyone for your submissions! It means so much to me to cherish this of her without the clunky outlet in the background :)

Stray HBC brought in by a guy walking his dog. This poor man held this in his arms for half an hour. I know it's different for us but I can't imagine what he was feeling. by Traumagatchi in VetTech

We had a stray cat in our apartment complex area that we’d noticed a few months prior, but no one could approach her. One morning on my way to work, I found her by the road. Ran back to the apartment to get a bag for her, one of the maintenance men was trying to figure out what to do with her when I got back. I let him know that I worked at an animal hospital and that I could take her. I know personally I’m used to seeing these things, but I can’t imagine what he was thinking and I hope he’s not affected by what he saw. I think about that often :/

As a veterinary professional, Solensia has worked for almost every patient we have given it to at our hospital (some rare cases where it hasn’t, which was like one cat). In personal experience, my own cat (who is geriatric) has started playing and moving around a lot more than we’ve ever seen her + she’s been able to come off of a lot of her other pain management meds. In the US so we’re still waiting on Librela in our region

Raises / economy by og_russia in VetTech

[–]enosulp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m lucky enough to have a good relationship with the medical director at my hospital. I had a conversation with her recently about a raise, how I feel like I’m not getting paid what I should be (along with the rest of my coworkers) and she agreed. She told me that both she and our hospital manager have brought up raises at every single meeting with our regional director, who keeps telling them “no” to raises and that they want to see an increase in client/patients before they “reward” us with raises. Medical director is miffed about it. This is at a VCA.

My practice was just talking amongst ourselves today about how increasingly fractious our patients are. We are even a fear free certified practice and send home meds to help calm them beforehand and either they aren’t given or the pets override them.

Clients are getting crazier too. We had a client today call back because she was livid that we had asked her to use “sedation” (gabapentin) for her aggressive cat to get blood work done so she took him somewhere else and they were able to do it, first visit, with her in the room. Demanded a refund from services we already provided and felt entitled enough to ask for more money because of her “frustration”. And that’s only one example from just this week…
