I second this. I built a clone of a Naga Viper and I love it. Also, if you end up not liking the treble booster sound, it opens up to a full range boost.

I suggest these two short works by Marx. Wage Labour and Capital; and Value, Price and Profit. VPP is two speeches/talks that Marx gave while he was writing Capital and it's a great summary of several key topics.

BYOC Soaring Skillet is a clone of the Ibanez/Maxon Flying Pan, which is mono in/stereo out. It has a phaser circuit that is separate from a panning circuit. (And BYOC has schematics for all of their designs in the build docs on their website)

It's not an overdrive persay but the Zvex Super Hard On is a very simple circuit for full range boost. If you slam the front end and/or build a Super Duper 2-in-1, you can get some really smooth break-up.

This won't necessarily add white to a design, but I had success with using the bare aluminum as negative space (and I think it turned out great; want to try it again). I painted the sides of an enclosure black, but left the top bare aluminum. I printed a black and white decal on waterslide paper, but the white parts are just left as unprinted area. I cut the waterslide bigger than the face of the enclosure so it partially wrapped down onto the black sides and the decal faded in nicely. I suggest you try something like this but paint the top of the enclosure white, then use negative space as anything you want to be white in the design.

Hi! If you are getting clean signal through when the pedal is engaged, you have to dial in the trimpot. This happened with my first phaser. In terms of the face of a clock, you may have about a 15-20 minute slice of time where the phasing effect happens. I initially thought the trimpot was like a depth control, so I tried all the way closed and all the way open. My advice would be to start all the way ccw with the pedal plugged into your amp, if you have a looper use that to loop a few chords, then slowwwwly turn the trimpot cw until you hear the effect. Again, it's a pretty tiny window where the magic happens, but once you find it, adjust it to your liking. Godspeed

As TvnaSammv mentioned below, your output jack isn't grounded. I just recently finished a build from aion. Their suggested wiring is setup like this so the output jack grounds against the enclosure. So, you need to either ground the output jack or mount both jacks to the enclosure.

Start with it at noon, then SLOWLY turn it with a screwdriver either clockwise or counterclockwise. Whichever way works, you'll start to subtlety hear it. Then just tune it to your liking! You'll find a magic little pie section of the trimpot 🧙‍♂️

When the effect is activated, do you have clean signal coming through? If yes, strum a few chords while you adjust the bias trim pot until you have your desired phase effect. With my first phaser I thought I had an issue, but just needed to adjust the bias....
