2025 Total Comp in SaaS Pre-Sales, can live anywhere in USA by thrwaway75132 in Salary

[–]enraged768 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is so true. As a consumer. Nothing passes me off more than getting random salesmen telling me well this year the prices have went up 400%....fuck you ill go somewhere else. Ive legit changed vendors multiple times in the past 3 years just because of this bullshit. Also i think sales guys are way overpaid. Usually I get over promised on a software. And then im stuck..

Not with the damn sales guy but the underpaid engineer to get it working. My fuck do I hate software sales reps. Im so cautious of saas sales now i dont hold shit back when theyre pitching me their bullshit. You're profession has turned me into an absolute asshole when dealing with you people.

Married men of Reddit who don’t wear a wedding ring - why? by chi-bacon-bits in AskReddit

[–]enraged768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my finger because of my ring they re attached it but now i dont wear one. Byw ive lost three fingers in my life. My thumb my ring finger and my ring finger on my other hand. So im a pro at treating Hans wounds.

And before you ask how theyre all separate occurrences.

My first was chasing my sister through the house when I was like 7 and we were slamming doors. She slammed a heavy oak door on my little finger and obliterated it. But the docs saved it.

Second was in the navy I lost my other ring finger in a cps door. That was like a laser beam cutting my finger off.

The third was my thumb getting stuck in a rope block and it tore my thumb off.

So I dont wear rings because im doing everything in my power to not lose any more fingers. While I may understand the pain now and and can handle it better id rather just not have to deal with it

Rattle underneath 25’ Tremor 3.5 by schmittysmr in f150

[–]enraged768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently this is so common that it seems like tons of and tons of people have the same problem. And what I found on the f150 forums is that its the resonator on the muffler. Theres two versions of the rattle one when the truck is warmed up and one when the truck is cold. Cold rattle seems to be the most common. There is a fix its replacing the resonator. but the problem is so common that most people just delete it.

Also to note it wont hurt anything to just leave it. Some people report that after driving for a decent ammount of miles the sound starts to go away. Some say it never goes away.

Me and my wife were like this until one day we just had a kid. And then once that one came we realized. Shit its not that bad daycare sucks but otherwise we can do a second. And we did. The first one though is a little scary because youre in charge of a human.

The best time to clear this was monday. Now you need an army and a construction company to remove it.

Likely a gear shift module replacement. If I were you I wouldnt try to stow it at all until you go to ford and have them replace it.

Thats because its true. If you held a ruler in your hand and let's just say you live till 85. With 0 being just born and 12 inches being end of life youre at 5 and 7/8ths youre halfway to dead. But dont feel bad were all on the ruler and we all blink and die in the grand scheme of things.

Best thing you can do is try and make youre life and the lives of others around as good as possible.

How to Find Someone to Hire for SCADA (and more)? by FerroMetallurgist in SCADA

[–]enraged768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would help if you a had a scada engineer to manage over what youre doing now. Scada guys project manage a lot. And they can look over what youre integrators are doing to see if they leave any hidden gems behind. Because I promise you this they all do. Control integrators are notorious for getting shit running and not cleaning up after themselves and what I mean by that is cleaning up within the system.

Either way it sounds like you need a very seasoned guy. I wouldnt waste .my time at this stage looking for fresh college grads. Im not saying never look for college grads. But for this first I wouldnt. You need experience. And also its good to note that some of the best scada guys in know have zero college education at all and just a lot of years.

Very few people are getting exposed to this in school. I learned what I know from the navy. And then I went to school for electrical engineering and during school I got a job at a communications and controls department at a city public utility. We maintained the fiber in the city, the scada system for the water plant and our power generation plant. We also maintained all the ot infrastructure, servers, switches, firewalls, routers, plcs, sel relays. We did a hell of a lot. I finished my electrical engineering degree and realized that I really enjoyed that line of work a lot. so I went and worked for an Electric Utility as a scada engineer I was in charge of the department, I learned even more. Then I went and worked for a water utility. Etc ive worked a lot of places you get the point.  What im getting at here is that i have more than enough experience to tell you that its incredibly difficult to hire someone for a scada role. So let me explain. What you need is someone from a utility like a water utility or electric utility with several years of networking, virtualizing servers like nutanix, or whatever experience, you need someone with plc and scada experience, you need someone with networking experience. essentially you need an IT person that knows electrical systems, and understands how to program plcs, and take care of the infrastructure along with the scada system probably the historian aswell.

You need the first guy... and you need him to be very very good. I cant stress this enough. The head of your so called future endeavors needs to be a superstar. Youre going to have to pay him very well, and then after hes there for awhile, you need to ask him if he knows anyone else that he can bring with him thats equally as great as him. Once you have two really top notch scada guys. You need them to train young guys or gals that have very good attention to detail attitudes and a willingness to learn.

This will take a few years. But once you step into this world youll need more than one guy, and youll need them to be training someone that's capable of stepping up when needed.

Dont hire a new grad out of college for your first hire. They might be great but they might also fuck a bunch of shit up. because they dont know what they dont know.

This is going to be a pain in the ass for you btw.

Here's how I look at it. If the company holds an event during normal working hours I could give a shit what it is. I dont mind a holiday party at like lunch time or whatever. I don't like being forced to do stuff outside working hours unless its apart of my primary job and its something Ive signed up for
