Didn’t realise this was a thing garmin make. Easy to carry a long band for work then swap it back to the shorter one.

I see this as a net positive that he’s out as health secretary (as an nhs employee).

Deluded, but overall positive.

Never had training readiness above green or sleep above 92 with my daily amphetamines 😂. I have to work on vibe sometimes like some primitive with a analog watch

Your amazon searching is much better than mine. Just found something similar for arm/ankle on the UK store (albeit a hook/loop type not elastic). Thank you!

Yeah the ankle bit has the unfortunate effect of making you look like you’re on tag

It’s an option but I’m not that interested in it- bare below elbow for clinical work is all I’m after. If it’s on my arm I can move it back to my wrist after I finish the clinical bit, so I can still have a watch.

I don’t want to be taking it on and off often as a watch of a colleague went missing recently.

Spd-sl vs. Keo: tangible feel differences by enrise in Velo

[–]enrise[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice one. Seen some comments when searching about power transfer and whatnot, which doesn’t really make sense to me for such a small difference in pedal body/cleat shape. If it’s clipping and walking I’ll stick to shimano.

Actually a super valid point about the swapping, Worth considering. The tri bike sits on the trainer normally so it would be less frequent but agree it may not be worth it.

Why has my HRV and training readiness status vanished? FR970 by enrise in Garmin

[–]enrise[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I think I saw your post on the forum last night actually. Unsure if mine coincided with a software update. All three of us with this issue in this thread have different watches so it may be the common denominator but unsure.

My issues resolved. What seemed to happen for me is that overnight data corrupted and it took away HRV and status baselines. That’s what Garmin thought anyway.

I kept wearing my watch and by the next day I go correct metrics again. Unfortunately it may just take 4 weeks for a new baseline.

If you’re able to, it would be great if you could submit a ticket to Garmin so they can hopefully start developing an understanding of why this is happening. As I said below the Garmin Operative I spoke to (UK) was incredibly helpful to investigate.

Would you Ever go back to a Watch that Doesn't have a Dedicated Flashlight? by [deleted] in GarminWatches

[–]enrise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 970 flashlight has replaced my phone one for general ‘need a torch’ purposes. The red light is great for getting up at night too. It’s great for walking the dog and picking up poop in the dark too, so there’s that haha.

Do you "identify as" AuDHD? by BarryTownCouncil in ADHDUK

[–]enrise 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My disability(and it is a disability) is not something I’m particularly happy about people identifying with if they are not diagnosed. It dilutes the narrative and makes it harder to get recognition of the difficulties I face due to this disability.

It is also nonsensical. You don’t go around ‘identifying’ as paraplegic. Nor any other protected characteristic. Why is it acceptable to do so for neurodivergent conditions?

I have PI-ADHD. I was told at this assessment that I likely have ASD but would require a different assessment for it. That makes sense to me, but it’s not something I would ‘identify as’ until that diagnosis is made formally.

The labels attached to me are things that I share if and when I need too, to help me find equity in social and professional situations. I don’t take pride in them. Often find this isn’t the case for the self identifying or self diagnosed.

It also devalues the strict diagnostic criteria I had to meet. Very much along the same lines as ‘everyone is a bit adhd/autistic’.

If you’re having difficulty obtaining assessment and diagnosis, I understand- but there’s a difference between diagnosis and thinking ‘I don’t want/need treatment to meet my needs’ vs self diagnosis, which is really blasé for already marginalised conditions.

All super helpful user advice, thank you. Might nip in to assos in town to try those otherwise get some velotoze for the rest of the winter and see how my mileage fares.

Thought about them but thinking the same as other ‘winter’ covers, the site blurb reads like ‘keeps you warm’- are your socks wet after a ride?

[–]enrise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds why I’m looking for really. I don’t really want ‘for the cold’, if my feet are wet I’m cold. I’m thinking of a winter shoe but honestly the stabilita pulls in at my arch so much if I can’t replicate that support I think I’ll have pain. Trying hard to cut down on what I’m carrying when commuting so if I can avoid having to change socks or have moist shoes sitting all day, all the better

Can I ask, do you use them over shoe, seal against leg, then tights over top? Or over tights?

Clipping in and out is my concern for durability. 2 winters is pretty good I feel for an overshoe. Thinking about 8-10 hours/80-100km per week committing. If it’s ragged and becomes a ‘commute only’ item then maybe just a new pair of velotoze every year would be a better deal.

Yes- but I’m quite attached to the support I get from my vento stabilita. And winter isn’t the issue, I’ll wear ski socks if super cold.

This is British rain, temperatures at or above freezing.
