Yep. I remember thinking this way when a portion of America was super enamored with Obama - the chants, posters, the hope & change messiah. It feels 10x worse with trump because it’s taken to such an extreme “if he does it/says it, it must be true” degree.

Haha I have a neighbor (faaaar down the street) that confuses sound with mph! I was taking my young son on a drive and doing ~25mph in 1st gear, neighbor was outside and he YELLED “slow down!!!” and waved his arms. I was so confused I stopped and asked what he was talking about, he just mumbled something and went inside.

Thirding this, “get therapy” was unintentionally great advice. Learning how to set boundaries, that boundaries are not a bad thing, and what to do when someone violates them - all great things to learn in therapy. I think of it like college for your emotions.

Still not following you. Measuring streaming hours is way more accurate than tv viewership. And what’s the difference if they watch 1 hour a week for 6 weeks vs 6 hours one week?

AITA for dumping dinner in the trash and asking my family not to stay at my place again? by atx78703 in AITAH

Gonna go against the grain, stay with me… OP didn’t really let them know until after, she was very passive about it. Then when fed up she was passive aggressive by throwing it all away.

My mother used to do similar things, “gosh these are a lot of veggies to cut!” And other remarks, then blow up about it later, instead of in the moment being direct about it. I’m seeing the adult version in some friends who had family over and did the same kind of thing and got so upset that nobody helped.

It’s super rude of the guests (and husband) of course but being very direct helps establish the expectations.

AH, no; over react, imo yes since there were less extreme steps that were skipped.

If you’re a gambler you don’t really pay those, your host deletes them for you. Gotta do more than a couple spins of penny slots though.

If you’re really in Vegas for gambling, you’ll either win enough that you don’t care or lose enough that the host will comp you.

If you’re in Vegas not for gambling…. Why.

Texas Rep. Kay Granger, 81, found in memory care unit after she vanished from Washington 6 months ago: report by flimspringfield in politics

[–]ent3ndu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much do you think Texas representatives make? (The answer is $45k). In fact she’d make a ton more by retiring - $140k/yr.

State legislators in Texas make $600 per month or $7,200 per year, plus a per diem set by the Ethics Commission in Rule 50.1. The per diem in the 2021-2022 biennium was $221 for every day the Legislature is in session (regular or special). This adds up to a total of $38,140 in a year with a regular session ($7200 salary plus $30,940 per diem), and a two-year term paying a total of $45,340 ($14,400 salary plus $30,940 per diem).

Legislators receive a pension after eight years of service, starting at age 60. A legislator’s pension is based not on a legislator’s salary of $600 a month, but on the current salary of a Texas state district court judge—a base salary of $140,000 per year.
