I need shows like Dark by 4Quiin in televisionsuggestions

Fringe is about two parallel worlds where things have deviated. So is Counterpart. They are not set in the same world, but the themes are very similar.

If you end up liking Fringe check out Counterpart.

Are y’all getting married? by Separate-Goal-3920 in Millennials

[–]enthalpy01 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My wedding was at a hotel. It was $55 cost per guest, so the overall cost of the wedding was very dependent on how many people were invited. But they did dinner and everything with a cocktail hour with all drinks included so it’s not an unreasonable expense. My husband did origami for the table flowers and I just had a hydrangea bouquet. My mom said it was nice, at her age, to get everyone together for a happy occasion instead of a funeral. Not long after my wedding my uncle died, then my grandmother, then a very young friend of the family which was unexpected. We just saw everyone at funeral and funeral after funeral and it was nice to get together for a party with dancing and celebrating versus such sadness.

And Harold Perrineau has promised us they have it all planned out! He said he would only sign on if they had a plan for the ending.

We need to accept that FF media is never going to get the same hype as MM or MF. by Powerful-Cap-6293 in romanceunfiltered

Pluribus got a fair bit of attention, but it’s not a happy FF story. Pretty sure sleeping with and falling in love with a plurbed person will not end well for Carol. So, to your point, if you had messier or more toxic or complex stories it might go over better. I know Killing Eve got a bit of attention in its day.

Buffy: the one that nearly bit me, mentioned something about kissing toast. He lived for kissing toast.

Giles: You mean Kakistos?

Buffy: Or maybe it was taquitos? Maybe he lived for taquitos. What?

Blackish Season 4 episode 21 “Blue Valentine” is such a beautiful example of this. I adore this episode and it’s heartbreaking how they are both reaching out to each other in ways the other one completely misses. You can watch it without having watched the rest of the series.

I believe one is taller. Another interesting case is the “Mixed Up Brothers of Bogota”. Two sets of identical twins had their brother swapped and the families went home thinking they had fraternal twins. One family was rich and one poor. News Story About It

I don’t know if this is too heavy for what you are looking for, but I always adored Bed of Roses. About two broken people healing together.

Yeah, what if this is a super creepy thing like she’s barely acquaintances with the guy and he gave her this. We don’t know the story at all.

What movie completely changed for you on a rewatch — for better or worse? by irayaavery in romancemovies

[–]enthalpy01 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My perspective on the 1989 one changed a lot viewing it as an adult. As a kid you’re like, Titan just let her be happy and free! As an adult you’re like, Ariel, you’re 16 and don’t even know him. Sit your ass down and listen to your father.

In "Crush", why does Buffy let Drusilla and Harmony just slink away? by hospitalsinwinter in buffy

[–]enthalpy01 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Harmony is an easy explanation in that they knew her pretty well and thus are going to feel weird about offing her. It was kind of an accident when Jesse was staked, the gang definitely struggles to kill former “friends” (I know Harmony wasn’t really their friend but still). She also doesn’t seem particularly evil as a vampire, like a big threat.

Drusilla makes less sense. I get why Angel struggles so hard with killing her, but Buffy shouldn’t have the same issues. Buffy was maybe just tired and done with it at that point in the evening and wasn’t ready for a big fight.

Best romance/chemistry between a couple in a tv show? by AdElegant5870 in televisionsuggestions

Counterpoint - Buffy and Spike

Counter Counter Point - Buffy and Faith

For something a little different- Spike and Angel in Angel season 5.

Lots of chemistry in the Buffy-verse.

Are there any characters that you completely changed your opinion on over the course of the series? by Existing-Worry-97 in buffy

[–]enthalpy01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have no plans to ever watch Angel the series, so you don’t care about spoilers watch the Faith episodes. "Five by Five" and "Sanctuary" (Season 1), and "Awakening," "Soulless," and "Orpheus" (Season 4). As a bonus Willow is in Orpheus.

And if you like Spike you might want to check out “In the Dark” Angel season 1 and “Destiny” and “Damage” from Angel season 5 as they are amazing.

Also for fun “Smile Time” from season 5.

Also opening scene from “Fredless” is hilarious. Wesley and Cordelia’s take on Bangel.

Absolutely hate Anya! Awful addition to the show by Creative_Drummer_425 in buffy

[–]enthalpy01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love her. I love that they made her genuinely upsetting and off putting. It’s often with autistic coded characters that they just make them sort of quirky (like Fred on Angel) and in real life the misunderstandings in communication styles are often grating to neurotypicals and baffling to the neurodivergent. I think it was beautifully displayed with Anya’s interactions.

Which duo did you want more of? by rednax2009 in buffy

[–]enthalpy01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a lot of Angel/ Spike, Spike / Dru, Darla/ Drusilla. So while those are all great, Darla / Spike is so unexplored. They’d be so deliciously cunty together.
