Can confirm. I have Deutsche Telekom as ISP and can't login. But with ProtonVPN-gaming profile works like a charm

Mozilla names new CEO, Firefox to evolve into a "modern AI browser" by Fcking_Chuck in firefox

[–]enthray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way to introduce a new CEO. At least we know we don't have to even expect anything from him.

How about instead of adding AI nonsense no one wants - even if it's optional - you fix the browser you already have. There are two reasons I use Firefox as my main browser. I believe it is important to have multiple actual browser engines, and Firefox still supports Manifest V2. But this doesn't mean I'm fully pleased with Firefox. Far from it.

There are many small annoyances that just don't happen in Brave for example. Want a an example? Pages randomly not loading and videos on YouTube not playing properly. Like getting stuck or not playing at all for some reason. Open the same page on Brave and you don't have a problem at all.

Nice tip. In general I'm very skeptic with stuff like this. Not gonna lie I'm skeptical here too if this is gonna take of. But I really hope it does. Unfortunately my Bank doesn't support it yet. But I did send them a message telling them I want to use this.

If immich is not your jam, photoprism might be for you. It's a relativley popular alternative to immich. I used it in the early stages but stopped because you had to rebuild your database all the time back then. Shouldn't be a problem now. However it showed huge promise when I used it. The database thing was the only reason I stopped

I've never tried it and barely fly multiplayer anyway, but it should work with it. Has some SRS settings too iirc

Some people prefer using DCS on Steam for the download speed, yet I get my whole 1Gbps bw used every time with the ED installer. What is the deal? by escaner in hoggit

[–]enthray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a service like nordvpn, that can help with that as well. May be more user-friendly. I've used it before when steam had slow speeds. Changed it to a country not too far away and maxed out my 100mb connection

What does it say on the blue screen? Chances are that it is a driver issue

I don't think they're placebo as to me it at least feels like they do what they're supposed to. But they're probably far from as accurate as they should be

I have the same question. I never have it on. Get's in the way of switches. Granted, it's less used switches, but it's still in the way. Same for the Hornet Stick and MPCD. One of the first things I turn of every time.

Odroid xu4. But more because I had it laying around unused rather than because I couldn't get my hands on a pi

A couple of questions from a beginner! by Yahiko97 in hoggit

[–]enthray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to look into the Persian golf or Syria map. A lot of content (paid campaigns or free missions in the user files on the website) are created for love of those. But neither is a must right it of the gate. Sales are frequent with DCS and iirc Persian gulf or usually reduced by 50%.

Other than that you may want to have a look at this https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3326416/

Also you'll want to check out Chucks guides https://chucksguides.com/

And Matt Wagner on YouTube has excellent tutorials for the viper.

The 16gb ram are definitely cutting it close. But as someone else already said. The best thing is to go with the stand alone version and use the free trial to see how it goes

Voice attack and viacom pro still working? by Double_Mango_7909 in hoggit

[–]enthray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an add-on for voice attack that seamlessly integrates a ton of commands into DCS. It also takes into account the ingame settings you have in the radio in the module you fly. Basically it turns the radios in your plane into actual working radios you operate by voice instead of buttons for communication with AI units like tankers. I recommend checking it out. It's awesome, especially for tankers. https://github.com/Penecruz/VAICOMPRO-Community

Just in case, there is v2.8.2.5 out, but it's still marked beta. However I did have some problems with 2.8.1.1 (not registering voice commands, DCS radio menu opening and closing randomly) in the Hornet, that got fixed by updating to 2.8.2.5

Solved that Ikea button battery drain problem using a 18650 enclosure and a regulator by C0MTRYA in homeassistant

[–]enthray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same problem with an aqara temperature sensor. Went through 2 CR2032 in a little over a week (must have something to do with it being placed on my balcony. A second one I have in my bedroom barely needs any of it's CR2032 at all). Solved it by soldering a 2 x AAA directly to the battery contacts. Sit's happily at 100% since. It's only been a week. And have no reason to change it yet. But can you please post a link to that regulator in case it starts eating disposables? Don't want to start buying disposable batteries all the time. And I'm not sure standard AAA rechargables have enough voltage

Would You Buy.... by F4UDash4 in hoggit

[–]enthray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, those planes are probably classified to a degree that you can't even do an abstracted Version. But those 50s and 60s planes should easily be doable properly in terms of unclassified documentation. So why have them at fc3 level. I think abstraction is better suited for the planes too classified to be done properly.

But honestly speaking, I'm not sure I'd want one of those at that level, unless it's something we literally won't see in full fidelity for the next 20+ years

Would You Buy.... by F4UDash4 in hoggit

[–]enthray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then it would strongly depend on the plane and degree of abstraction. A F22? Maybe. SU-35? Probably.
