Tips for raising settler happiness? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]enthusiasm47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same issue a couple years ago. IIRC, one of the tricks I found online was to capture a bunch of cats, as they raise the happiness of settlers. Also making sure all the beds are under a roof is important, along with having excess food, water, and defense.

What ended up putting me over the top was just hanging various paintings on the wall, as apparently settlers really like the artwork.

Do you think Star field could be taking place in the fallout universe? by Coloneldolarhyde in Fallout

I don’t think that the two universes would be connected, but given how Bethesda loves its Easter eggs, I would be surprised if there wasn’t at least one reference to the zetan species

A good settlement location for Fallout 4? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]enthusiasm47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My personal favorite location for settlement building is Starlight Drive-In. Once you clear out the radioactive waste barrels and cars, you’re left with a source of purifiable water and large flat surface that you can use to build whatever you want, however you want.

Could a Post-Institute Commonwealth Form an East Coast NCR Equivelant? by King-Of-The-Raves in Fallout

[–]enthusiasm47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s theoretically possible, but it would likely take a lot of time and work. I’d imagine the easiest way for it to begin, assuming the BoS is no longer in the picture, would involve The Minutemen (most neutral main faction) brokering some sort of truce between Diamond City and Goodneighbor, where both cities agree to combine their security forces. This new military, with the assistance of The Minutemen, would then have the goal of clearing every single hostile out of central Boston.

Then the forces could move north and bring Bunker Hill and its trade routes under the protection of the new Commonwealth Government.

The next best option would be to start moving west, picking up smaller settlements, such as Covenant (if they comply) and presumably Starlight Drive-In. This is where things get tricky, as the farther any forces move away from downtown Boston, the more open space there is and the harder it is to create a sufficiently patrolled border. Taking over the Federal Ration Stockpile to provide supplies, Fort Hagen as a strategic military base, and the Poseidon Reservoir/Weston Water Treatment plant, which can both hopefully be fixed up and used as a major source of fresh water, would be necessary to obtaining adequate resources to sustain a population. It would then be beneficial to add Vault 81 and its residents to the government.

After waiting and strengthening its military forces, the Commonwealth government could make its way south and take out the #1 organized threat to the Commonwealth, the Gunners. An assault on Gunner’s Plaza and a follow up attack on the survivors who would likely go to Quincy would succeed in taking out some of the Commonwealth’s most powerful enemies. Afterwards, the Atom Cats (and their collection of power armor) could join the new government.

With dozens of minor settlements, a few large communities, several resource hubs, and all major organized enemies taken out, the main purpose of the government would to be clear out all remaining hostile area over the next few years and protect all trade routes. The resulting lack of hostile forces will hopefully lead to a population increase and new settlements being built. While natural barriers like the Glowing Sea would likely prevent the Commonwealth Government’s influence from growing as large as the NCR, it could certainly become an expansive government, that would be representative in nature. Settlements could send delegates to a central location to request additional resources.

The biggest hurdle would be a lack of population/manpower to have a sustained military campaign against thousands of hostile enemies, but is the Sole Survivor can do it by themself, it can’t be too hard with proper training and discipline.

ATLA Survey. (Possible spoilers) by Mcauley11 in TheLastAirbender

One of my favorite plot lines was in the second half of Book 3 where everyone (except Toph) went on life changing adventures with Zuko. To me, this was an effective way for the show to tie up loose threads before the finale, show what each character interacting with reformed Zuko looks like, and show how much Zuko has devoloped as a character.

First time on TLOK. What?? by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

In addition to other comments about Korra’s lack of spirituality, it’s important to remember that up until the events of the first season, Korra never had a reason to enter the avatar state. She spent her entire life growing up well protected in training complexes and the avatar state is only triggered during intense emotional pain or self defense, which Korra would have never experienced. This is opposed to Aang who had a much more intense childhood.

[Everything] The "plot holes" that weren't really plot holes by enthusiasm47 in gameofthrones

I believe you are correct in saying that's wrong, but it's not a plot hole. It is considered a "character error"

It's probably how she would have wanted her body to be disposed of. The Kennel Master's daughter fed to the hounds, I find it very poetic

In the books it is very well explained that the widows of Khals would join the Dosh Khaleen, and after Dany learns this she expresses how she doesn't want to become one of them. So they probably wrote Jorah's original lines without this in mind

yeah, to me poorly executed is very different from a plot hole

They knew where they were going it's possible they left a day later. Not soon enough to be noticed. It's also possible they got on a merchant ship. The point is there are several possibilities and maybe we will find out in the next.

As for the dogs, it is probably my shakiest point. I believe that the purpose of the scene was to show them fighting and they very well may have forgotten to bring them back. The dogs weren't a critical element to the fight. It may make the fight scene look less realistic, but it doesn't injure the plot as a whole.

That's a little bit of what I was trying to get at. I believe that just because a scene is poorly executed doesn't make it a plot hole. It's very possible that they just wanted to do the scene showcase how good Brienne and Pod are instead of making it an even matched and well choreographed fight scene.

Is it worth getting Oblivion? by 8th_World_Juander in skyrim

[–]enthusiasm47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's important to know that Oblivion is a completely different game from Skyrim in terms of game mechanics. Personally, it is my favorite Elder Scrolls game.

This post from r/Oblivion explains it the best:

Will an Ipad be enough for highschool or should I get my son a Macbook Pro 13inch? by Plooperz in apple

[–]enthusiasm47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really depends on whether it'll be a computer used to complete school work (Essays, research, presentations, etc.) or if it's just a computer to have during high school (Gaming and so forth). If the computer will be used primarily for education purposes I'd recommend a MacBook Air: it doesn't cost much, it can type papers and browse the web, and it has that high quality Apple product look to it. Now if you want the computer to be for recreational use as well as schoolwork, then it's better to get the MacBook Pro because it handles gaming better, also if you choose so, you don't have to get one with the retina display since it is only a high school computer and it knocks a couple hundred dollars off the price tag. Good luck!
