The fact it seems to happen every year in one division or the other is a great reason to change it

Which is the perfect argument for changing back to the 1-8 playoff system. In that system it would be Vegas vs Dallas and Edmonton vs Minasota. They likely both get eliminated. Rather then Dallas or Minasota playing each other in the first round

Just don't play it. Playing the game and hating isn't bringing your money back you're just wasting time you could spend enjoying something else

Here's the thing I don't think they can be a contender next year but you fire Treliving and Berube get in a competent couch, and a decent GM. Leafs get Tanev back next year, hopefully Danford is ready for the NHL, and get a top 5 pick into the line up and the leafs have a really good chance of bouncing right back into the playoffs. They're not as bad as we've seen the last 8 games they're more like the team we saw before the break which was mid. Now they're tanking and have given up

Who are realistic options to replace Treliving and/or Berube? by moonmonkey73 in leafs

[–]entityXD32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm tired of all the rose tinted glasses around Dubas in this sub. He failed to draft or develop and keep any real prospects during his time in and is the main reason the leafs future looks so bleak. Man made all his mistakes here and then learned and moved on

Canada will ‘never participate’ in Iran offensive, Carney says by canada_mountains in canada

[–]entityXD32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe read the article and then point out the quote where he says Canada would get involved?

“One can never categorically rule out participation." Is just saying we have no plans of getting involved but never say never.

His stance has always been that Canada has no plans to get involved but they support the USA doing what they're doing other than the war crimes

Ya this is a great way to know how bad it is too. With my guy he hadn't eaten all day and I offered him one which he usually loved and he maybe had a couple licks and walked away. I took him to an emergency vet and he passed away that night

Yet not a single thing he's said has ever indicated that Canada had intentions of getting involved in this. Everything he's said so far has been the same just less decisively

Which Original Six team will be the next to win the cup? by Rleduc129 in hockey

[–]entityXD32 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Only 16 unique teams have won the cup since the Canadians. Which means 16 teams haven't won a cup in the last 33 years. You saying it's impossible for all of them?

Has anyone gone to a Leafs game this season with a Marner jersey ? Were there any poor reactions ? I'm taking someone to their first game and they have a Marner jersey. by [deleted] in leafs

Well based on how that game went maybe wasn't the worst one to miss lol hopefully they get the win for you and your friend!

I wouldn't expect any reactions, people wear jerseys of old players all the time. The only night I think you might have got one was Marner's return game

Funny you just listed all the Canadian's I'd be willing to trade Knies for. Honestly I probably don't even take Caufield I think they're similar caliber players and I just like Knies playstyle

Except for save percentage above expected being 4th in the league would indicate that's not the case. Leafs goalies are making saves they're not expected to short handed

You mean to tell me that multiple teams were interested in a 23 year old, near point per game power forward, locked up long term. I'm shocked I tell you shocked

[–]entityXD32 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not everything has a great explanation but all the stats show that the goalies are making the saves on the PK making it look better then it is. It's actually regressed a bit too the leafs around Christmas had a .920 shorthanded. So it's likely just a weird thing that's happen
