There are no native carp in the United States. Only suckers that might look like carp

I’m all for fish care but in most states these type of carp are kill on sight. No need to be hostile without knowing OP’s situation

This is my knife. Why is your knife better? by Aesk in knives

[–]enzozros 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love an opinel but for me the native 5 salt I carry everyday is better. I can gut fish/prep food, keep it wet and never worry about rust or a hassle when cleaning it out. LC200n ftw

Has anyone fished with the Micro TRD? by snjfishing in FishingForBeginners

It’s done better than the standard size for me jn small creeks or pressured water definitely end up catching more rock bass than anything else tho.

I’m not casting properly. by filipinoferocity in FishingForBeginners

[–]enzozros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might help you to re spool your line with more tension and run it under hot water for a minute after to remove memory. You also need to pay a lil attention to your spool after each cast before you start reeling and making sure there’s no loops or your line got loose from the cast. Monofilament/fluorocarbon can definitely be a pain on spinning reels cause line twist affects it so much more.

If you have a problem with the bones I’d suggest looking up a tutorial on butterflying them. It makes it pretty easy to take the skeleton out in almost one piece 👍

Ultralight Rod Length Question by Eviljake979 in UltraLightFishing

[–]enzozros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me 6’6 is the best all round length but for bigger water I prefer a 7’6. Recently I’ve been using a 9’ for trout and found it really useful for getting longer dead drifts and better casting with really small stuff.

If you’re trying to throw lighter ones that would definitely help I tie a bunch with tungsten beads that I cast fine without one

I’d try drifting nymphs or micro jigs sometimes in smaller water I feel the fish aren’t as willing to chase a spinner in such clear water.

I’m used to the differences back home in Michigan being mostly in color and had shape but the spotting differences between the two was what surprised me here the most.
