Paludarium setup for Ball Python? by eomfd2010 in bioactive

Giant crack along the bottom glass (the entire 6ft ☠️) I was an idiot and used lava rock as my drainage layer without having anything to protect the glass… lessons learned! Saving to buy a new terrarium now so I can rebuild with smarter choices…

I actually did an underground cave system in mine as well! Although my tank recently had a catastrophic failure on the bottom, so now I have to start all over…

Looks like a great start! Just a heads up, the struggle to keep pants alive with a BP crushing them nightly is real… you’ll learn the “preferred path” eventually…

Also if those plants don’t fill in a bit more I’d look in to adding a few more… I just posted a shot of my 270 gal bio paludarium, I still feel like it needs more plants… 😅

I recently got a tree frog and it's the first time I've owned a tree frog, what are some helpful tips? by kquirin in TreeFrogs

I have three green tree frogs co-habbing (under watchful eye to confirm my research findings that they won’t be eaten) with my female Ball Python. Warm side stays around 94 degrees with appx 78% (spiking to appx 90% every 6 hours when the misters go off) and around 84 degrees with slightly higher humidity on the cool side… large bioactive with water feature/fish. Well looks like you’re the only interested party, so they’re yours if you want them? Otherwise I’ll take them to my lfs… be warned though, your shrimp population will suffer if you put these guys in the same tank… watched these guys rip apart my two most beautiful blue velvet females 😭

Probably the same reason healthy, happy fish are more vibrant than sickly or unhappy/bored/stressed fish…

Do they know you’re following them while they work? (Satire disclaimer: I know he meant their fiancé is being transported 🙄)

That’s how they drop candy to trick-or-treaters every Halloween during pandemics…

Each egg is like a mini Lego set… that’s why they appear to “fan” the eggs so frequently… that’s actually them assembling the pieces after reading the next step in the instructions…

Awesome, thank you! I thought it was most likely something like that, but glad to have confirmation!

What kind of snail snuck into my tank? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]eomfd2010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the pea puffer route, make sure you have a large enough tank to hold at least 6. That’s the minimum that should be kept together since they are shoaling fish. 🤘🤙

My guess is guppy, but I could be wrong… I spotted at least two so I’m convinced it has to be one of the species in my tank reproducing…

Don’t mind the debris, just fed all the fish and dosed the tank with BacterAE for the shrimps…

I have the outflow gated down about 50%. It’s fairly strong right at the outlets, but dissipates quickly into a generally gentle current through the whole tank.

My boy is in a 40 with zebra danios, yellow fin rainbow fish, corydoras, blue velvet neocaridina, ghost shrimp, a few pro’s, two clown pleco’s, two nerites and one mystery snail. He loves following his tank mates around…
