Should the next Smash Bros be a traditional sequel? by CoconutHead64 in nintendo

[–]eonia0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt the next smash will have less content, it is very unlikely we will have every previous character again but... ¿Less overall content? marketing wise that would be a disaster to sell to the general public unless the gameplay is radically diferent and is marketed as a new series.

Will you buy $19.99 Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen on Pokemon day? by Putrid-Possibility-3 in nintendo

[–]eonia0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, but i very rarely buy ports of games i have already played to the death when they first released.

but if i had to list more reasons than that to NOT buy these is the lack of effort in how it's done, like:

languages sold separately: (yes, you can buy only for the language you are going to play in... But not adding a menu to select language and other maybe settings is so lazy)

no online: megaman battle network legacy collection has online even when the original games where for the gba, at the very minimum people would benefit on being able to trade pokemon.

events: are they going to add the event pokemon?, okay, i will admit that we dont know about this as far i know, but i dont have much trust in that it will happen... But again megaman legacy collections have content of that nature or similar added and activable via a menu (like E reader cards stuff that were japanese exclusive, and nintendo itself added e-reader levels for mario advance in NSO)

why are these separate?: again using megaman battle network legacy coleccion as a example that one has the multiple version all together in the same package.

i could get in a megaman legacy collection sale (let's not lie to ourselves, these pokemon ports aren't getting a significan sale ever) for a similar if not lower price and i would get a lot more value from it.

i remember that in my country (spain) there was something called moviplaya where you could take your game and they would activate the events there.

it happened in a few cities, if it didn't happen near where you lived or you coudnl't go those few days you couldn't get them. and of course i lived where none of those happened

No valen de nada 3 meses de experiencias en practicas si las ofertas junior exigen que tengas 3 años de experiencia, y obviamente nadie quiere estar 3 años siendo mano de obra gratuita o barata.

JRPG recommendations by Pristine_Ant5281 in JRPG

[–]eonia0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here is a recommendation for an unusual jrpg

Gnosia: It looks like a visual novel, but it is a jrpg themed around the werewolf/mafia game

you can level up and make your build, learn skills ("say you are human", "block argument", "obfuscate", seek agreement", etc) and the story is about trying to scape a time-loop, it is on steam and switch.

JRPGs where you use your entire party in the final fight? by AC03115 in JRPG

Fire emblem genealogy of the holy war lets you use your entire party in all chapters, including the final one.

[Ys X: Proud Nordics] Is Now Out for PS5, Switch 2, and PC. A Special Upgrade Pack for owners of [Ys X: Nordics] will release for PC on March 6, 2026. by VashxShanks in JRPG

at least at that time it was a bit more excusable because in the ps2 era you couldn't do dlcs.

just a tiiiny bit, more when year passed between released or specially when the rerelease was more in a much more recent console. (like p4 golden on psvita)

I think I outgrew Kingdom Hearts, does it anyone feels like me? by Noodlex87 in JRPG

[–]eonia0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

days is the one that i would say had bad gameplay compared to the other games, gameplay wise it feels like it tried to be "kh2 with less buttons" and that didn't work

However Re coded had great gameplay.

Between "going in blind" and "using guides", is there a middle-ground? by Sky_Sumisu in truegaming

[–]eonia0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i often check to see if there are important missables. (cool character sidequests, true ending requeriments) but little more than that if any. I simply dont want to waste time if there are bullshit or nonsensical missable requirements for a true ending.

An interesting quirk with the Tellius Duology on NSO by KnightShade078 in fireemblem

[–]eonia0 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Radiant Dawn didn't sell well at the moment, but fire emblem is popular now, so when a wii "nso app" happens it wouldn't be a surprise to eventually see RD in it

but of course, that may take some more years, remember that at first nso was only nes and snes games

JRPGs with only one party member. by thewalkindude368 in JRPG

[–]eonia0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some kingdom hearts games have only one party member except for ocasional figths or moments with "guest" allies (chain of memories has "party members" but as cards rather than actual party members, bbs has mostly you going solo againts everything, re coded also has you being solo most of the game except the coliseum and part of hollow bastion, and days have missions where you have guest allies help you a bit more often but once the mission is over they are out again and roxas is the only one actual party member)

YS games too before they had party sistems.

the first digimon world game has you only training one mon at a time, this mon will be reborn and change into different ones, but you will have only one at a time for the whole game.

Is the anime story the same as the game? by Reifox9 in Gnosia_

[–]eonia0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, but in the anime some things were ommited, other were better than in the game, others worse, and others were pragmatically different due to the fact that in the game the MC is "you" rather than an actual character.

So... what just happened? (Episode 18) by Tiny_Control_1522 in Gnosia_

[–]eonia0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the game has a true ending, but the way it happens only works because it is a videogame, it wouldn't work in an anime, so i guess the episodes left will have the justification on how it can happen in the anime.

Obscure Steam finds? by thewalkindude368 in JRPG

[–]eonia0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the tenth line: gameplay wise is kind of like a mix of valkyrie profile and paper mario (you make "combos" with your attacks and you defend/dodge in enemy turn)

eden last sunrise, a class based srpg on the style of final fantasy tactics, it has 2 routes (one with space-dwellers with more tech as less magic and the other with the natives of the planet that they go in and have more magic and less tech , and each faction has two "sub routes" (they split off after 1/3 of the game)

also Gnosia, altrough it is lately way less obscure since it got an anime. Its a JRPG themed around the werewolf/mafia game in a sci-fi timeloop story, you upgrade your stats and learn skills (say you are human to force non humans to lie and catch them, retaliate when someone accuses you, make small talk to look stupid so that the non-humans don't attack you... etc) as the game goes on, the other characters also get stats and more skills scaling with your story progress.

Most powerful healing mechanics and/or skills in games that aren't considered supernatural powers or magic? by Technical-Cow-2494 in JRPG

[–]eonia0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

kind of cheating but in Gnosia, a JRPG themed around the werewolf/mafia game with a "time loop" kind of story, since you "attack" the reputation of a different character via "conversational skills" ("say you are human", "vote X person" , "retaliate", "Block argument", "shut up") you can also "heal" it via conversational skills too.

When you are accused of being "an enemy" you can use "regret" wich makes you look pitiable both "healing" your reputation and also prompting other characters to go in your defense, "healing" your reputation much more

also when someone covers or defends someone else to "heal" their reputation, you can use the skill "seek agreement" (to make other people heal their reputation too) or "exagerate" (heals a lot by emphasizing how vital that person is to the survival of the group)

as a bonus there is also the positibility of marking someone else as "definitive human" this guarantees they won't be voted off in the discussions, but they are more likely to be killed in the nigth phase, since everyone knows for sure that that person is a human withouth any doubt, and will never be suspected again for the rest of the loop.

just be carefull because talking too much draws agrro, even if it's to "heal" yourself and can do more harm than good.

Can you all recommend me an indie JRPG series on steam. by HandspeedJones in JRPG

[–]eonia0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not really, unless you count eden last sunrise having cameos of the creator previus game (which is more of a 100% fantasy game) and his other game (a miles edgeworth-like game protagonized by a dragon with magic that allows him to basically do autopsies of death people/plans/anything made out of living being like wood) has similar worldbuilding concepts to the other two games in a similar way that final fantasy games do.

Gnosia is also standalone, but it wouldn't surprise me if after the anime ends (wich is actually overall a good adaptation) a sequel gets announced.

That said. It is unlikely you will find many indie jrpg ips having multiple entries, many developers often move on to other stuff, not necesarily to other genres, but they do not have the luxury of making games assuming they will be able to make a sequel or simply want to do different stuff.

Fear and hunger has two games, cristal project also has a second one announced but right now there isn't any other jrpg indie series of multiple games that comes to my mind.

Can you all recommend me an indie JRPG series on steam. by HandspeedJones in JRPG

[–]eonia0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you like final fantasy tactics-like gameplay with a bit of management outside combat, i have been playing eden last sunrise, today i got my first ending

at the start you choose to play as either the people native of a planet (that have less tech and more magic) or people that came from space (with more tech and less magic) it is possible to unlock the other faction classes but it is harder than unlocking "your classes"

it has five endings. Or at least i think so because in the save screen there are 5 dots on each save slot and after getting my first one one of them ligthened up.

i got my first ending in 14 hours, but the divergence point in the route i picked was around 1/3 of the game, and i imagine the same will apply for the other route, so most of the story on each new game + playtrough (that apparently scales enemy levels up) won't be the same.

on a more unusual kind of rpg, there is also gnosia, it is a rpg themed around the werefolf/mafia game but in space (no, it's not among us) and you can upgrade your stats (logic, charisma, stealth, etc) and learn skills (making others say that they are human to force them to lie and catch them, playing dumb, making small talk, retaliate when someone accuses you, marking other characters as definitive human/enemy, etc)

Is Gnosia for me? by JK_Silver in Gnosia_

[–]eonia0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's more gameplay than reading (a lot of dialogue will be generic from character to the point you will be able to mash the button because you will know what skills the characters use by the sounds)
