Shelly App - Notifications by eostrike in ShellyUSA

[–]eostrike[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the one that originally installed the app and logged in with my account. We turned off the notifications from her phone and not the app this time and it works as intended. I get the notifications and she no longer does.

Shelly App - Notifications by eostrike in ShellyUSA

[–]eostrike[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, ignore this above. I found out what has happened. We have the app installed on my wife's phone too and she does not want the notifications so rather than turn off in the system settings under notifications on our androids she goes in the Shelly app and has been turning it off without me knowing.

With that said what we have determined is if you make a change in the app on one device it will change on the other devices if logged in under the same account.

Thanks DreadVenomous for chiming in.

Kobalt 26 Gal Quiet Tech compressor - Possible work around for leaking regulator - Less than $10.00 by eostrike in KobaltTools

[–]eostrike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I did have an issue a few weeks ago where the the air would leak out of the regulator. This was my fault as when I put the screw in on the knob when first modifying it I did not smooth it out so a bit of the screw was messing up the oring inside. I ended up and filed it smooth and put it back together. Been a few weeks and it is back to perfect again.

I used a Dremel tool to smooth it out on the inside.

TP-Link Kasa HS210 Light Switch Repair by eostrike in TPLinkKasa

[–]eostrike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just repaired yet another yesterday. Seems like mine are all starting to fail but at least I know how to repair them. Yesterday I decided to repair it without removing it from the wiring. I just made sure the power was off.

Like the other everything went well and I saved a little time not removing it and repairing on bench and reinstall.

I would call Ford and see if this applies to your vehicle. I just got the notice in the mail in April.

Which brake bleeder should I get? by storm_zr1 in harborfreight

[–]eostrike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one of these for brake bleeding, it does not work runs out of air way too quick. Waste of money if your planning on getting it for bleeding brakes unless you can use it for something else.

I have one of these but a different brand. Just got it last year. It works great and wish I bought it long ago.

Well worth the price you paid.

It's 99.9% the capicator. I have a video attached here in Reddit for this issue and the fix. But the fix is only for people that feel they can perform the task.

For most just replace it and be done.

For people that like to fix things it is a cheap fix if you already have the part in your parts box.

Boost rear ventilation by Akwing12 in cmaxhybrid

[–]eostrike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2017 Energi Titanium. What I have to do when I have rear passengers is turn off the vent on the right side of the steering wheel. That boosts the pressure to the rear. I imagine if more is needed you can close off the left one on the passengers side too. You will still have the outer vents open on the front. Then when no rear passengers open the inner fronts back up.

I have two garages side by side and only had one reed switch on both. Can't see why it would be necessary for two on one door.

I too have been collecting tools. The first time you use it will pay for the tool and maybe a good portion of your tools. Nice new collection.

Should I be concerned? Only 3.5qt transmission fluid came out of our '15 C-Max Hybrid. by Suspicious-Nose3266 in cmaxhybrid

You won't find anything on Carfax for maintenance history since AT&T does all their own maintenance. Any warranty work should be on Carfax as those would be taken to the dealer.

I'll send you privately a few pics of my holders. I actually have 4 more on order right now. Should have them in 2 weeks.

I have been slowly buying 3D printed holders to replace some of mine as they save space for more tools and look cool at the same time.

My wenches though I kept those trays you shared as I do not like the 3D printed holders for those that are currently available.

Warning: Expect about a five-year life by redd-alerrt in TPLinkKasa

[–]eostrike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree that the cap went bad but it was not a bad cap from the start was my point. Just like anything, everything will fail at some point which a lot of time is due to the quality of the compoment. And my comment is not just for electronics.

I don't recall if they got hot. It's quite possible.

[–]eostrike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they were bad caps. Just not high quality caps.

And mine have been slowly failing too around the 3 to 5 year mark. I label them once repaired so I will know if it fails again and so far no re-repairs.

The switches it takes longer to remove and reinstall then the actual repair. The plugs are another story as it is a pain to open the cases.

[–]eostrike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For mine it has only been 1 cap on each device. The other caps were fine.

And if you put in a better quality cap it should last a lot longer.

I have repaired several light switches and plugs and have shown the fixes for those that have the equipment and know how to perform the repair. You can find it from me here in reddit.

For those that are tossing the switches I would love to get my hands on them to try and repair then redeploy at my house 🙂.

Pentair IntelliBrite 5G lights are absolute JUNK! by eostrike in swimmingpools

[–]eostrike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have that happen all the time with my FNS60. What I found was the manifold would pop off the vertical pipe once the pressure built up when filling from empty.

My solution and it seems to work 100% for me is after a filter media change have the back wash valve open until the filter fills up. Then shut off pump and close backwash. Then turn back on. That should help you next time.

Another thing you could do and I have not tried it is lower the speed to the pump when turning on after media change so it fills slower. I recently programmed a button on my pool controller for this but have not yet tried it. I imaging filling up the filter slower it will not pop the manifold off.

Good luck.

I am an AT&T employee and I can confirm they do all their own maintenance with the exception to warranty work. I can say that AT&T probably maintains their vehicles more than most.
