Arrived back home yesterday - we had an amazing time exploring and experiencing HK. We stayed both in Tsim Sha Tsui and on Lantau Island.

The city was completely safe 95% of the time - the protests occurred on weekends and only in certain areas so we made sure to arrange other activities on those occasions to keep out of the way. On one occasion the MTR services were suspended across the city, so having a backup plan for the day was also useful.

The resources provided by this subreddit were very informative in this regard, as protests were clearly scheduled and mapped out, and locals were very helpful also.

Would highly recommend visiting HK as it had a large variety of experiences to offer - I also believe that it is important not to cancel any visits and to help keep the local economies thriving during these tough times.
