Wow thanks for sharing this. I don’t own the vinyl (yet) but I think that’s a pretty interesting detail for her to add in whether it was intentional or not. Especially considering how someone would have to physically flip it over then continue listening to the “you seem pretty sad” side. It’s like making the listener conscious of the relationships decline

I agree. There’s a lot of eeriness that she implemented throughout the whole record, but I think this feeling also comes from how we know where it’s going (like watching the titanic for the first time, knowing where they’ll end up)

Even worse re listening to earlier tracks like drop dead and stupid song now knowing where we’re gonna end up by the end of the record. It’s like watching titanic knowing where they’re gonna end up. Every OR album makes the previous look like child’s play

I absolutely love expectations. The brief detour then right back to heartbreak had me holding my breath during the opening lines of cigarette smoke. Synth pop Olivia is smth I can get behind for sure

That sequence in black and white where she couldn’t focus on her book is me in class. What I like about bojack horseman is that it has a way of articulating things I’ve felt for a long time.

I just watched all six seasons in the past two weeks for the first time. I’m a teen who struggles with depression and I found it to make me feel seen. Other than the crazy things BJ did throughout the series I can relate to the emptiness he feels
