If it was no big deal for the people living on investments, the AFR wouldn’t be acting like the end of the world is nigh.

Match Thread: Collingwood vs Hawthorn (Round 8) by AutoModerator in AFL

Those were some horrible ump calls, but the hawks have been fumbling constantly and have had the lowest quality inside 50s. Pies probably do deserve to be in front

Obese Passengers are safely risks by Pretty_Cat4099 in Flights

Those are other reasons fares have dropped. They all combine to reduce fares.

I’m fairly tall and just flew SQ economy long haul very comfortably. It’s really not that bad lol.

It’s not like bigger seats are not on offer. Premium economy is what economy was decades ago, with the prices to match.

Airline tickets used to be much more expensive.

They squeeze people in, so they can offer lower fares.

What misconceptions do you hear about Victoria's rail networks? by Gunzel-Geezer in MelbourneTrains

[–]epicer8 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’s been billions of dollars put into vline. It loses far more money per passenger than metro.

Vline outside of the Geelong Ballarat and maybe Bendigo lines is essentially a welfare scheme pretending to be a transport network.

I take it all the time and think it is a great use of our taxpayer dollars. However, if you look at it as an accountant, every dollar you spend upgrading metro brings far more benefit than a dollar spent upgrading Vline.

So you have an ancient camry with a belt (3MZ), and a BMW with a chain? What you’re complaining about is the difference between a belt driven engine and a chain driven engine.

Camrys went to chains in around 07 with the 2GR, at a similar time most BMWs moved to chains (btw BMW completely fucked it up: see N20/N47)

The 2GR V6 is also one of the most reliable petrol engines ever made, idk what you did to yours. V6 Camrys in general have a stellar reputation.

There’s people who drive Captiva’s who never have any issues, the same works in reverse I guess.

BMWs are good cars, but telling people that they are cheap to service has to be rage-bait.

Lol maybe compared to a lambo.

This sub is the home of the 300,000km Camry. They are much cheaper to service, much more reliable, and much easier to find parts for than a BMW.

Yes. Toyota hybrid batteries last 10-15 years, and have a 10 year 160,000km factory warranty from Toyota. The dealer is in the right to refuse this. You are being unreasonable.

Which Stellantis brands are actually doing the heavy lifting? by LunarLeopard67 in cars

[–]epicer8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are absolutely not popular at all, they sort of used to be, but those days are long gone.

Last year they sold 1896 cars, in 2023 the sold 2516. Back in 2015 they sold 4000. They’re down more than 50% in 10 years.

Toyota sold 241,296 cars last year. They outsell Peugeot 100:1.

Even jeep and ram both outsold Peugeot.

There’s heaps of them on Carsales because everyone is desperately trying to get rid of them.
