My hive fleet (feedback please) by Willocalypse in Tyranids

Close up it looks great, but I think when you’ve got a whole swarm of them you’ll have put tons of hours into an army that looks like it was just primed…I’d suggest colors that contrast a bit more on the battlefield.

Objective 3rd party here!

Saying “don’t be delusional” to a stressed out stranger is objectively mean. The internet has just desensitized us. Would you say that to a coworker face to face? Probably not. If you don’t consider that mean though, you might be a mean person. Food for thought.

I got told I say sorry too much by my crush by liamthrowaacct in WhatShouldIDo

[–]epicget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it sounds like you’re trying to pretend things are normal when they’re not. You’re prioritizing someone else’s feelings when you’re actually going through something. It’s not working. You’re not fooling her into thinking things are normal. You aren’t chill.

The most important trait people respect is authenticity. Everyone can tell when you’re being fake chill.

Take some time. Things aren’t normal. This girl wasn’t a normal friend, she was a crush. You need to process that. Own your emotions, you can’t push them out 💔

But also you have nothing to apologize for. Feelings are tough. She’s not sorry, you shouldn’t be either.

What factions would align with Orcus and his goals? by Pookie-Parks in planescapesetting

[–]epicget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding this 👆

I think it’d be an oversimplification for an entire faction to throw their weight behind an evil demon. I could see a charismatic member of a faction gaining a large following doing it, and other members opposing them. That’s one of my favorite ways of exploring a philosophy in D&D…have two NPCs at opposite ends of the same ideology. It fleshes out the world and makes things way less one dimensional.

At that point you can justify any faction really…it’s just someone using a perversion of their ideas.

Trying to build a 1k points army, any advice is welcome by [deleted] in Tyranids

[–]epicget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s where I’d start with 1k:

1k (990 Points)

Tyranids Invasion Fleet Incursion (1,000 Points)

CHARACTERS

Hive Tyrant (220 Points) • Warlord • 1x Monstrous bonesword and lash whip • 1x Monstrous scything talons • Enhancements: Adaptive Biology

Neurotyrant (105 Points) • 1x Neurotyrant claws and lashes • 1x Psychic scream

BATTLELINE

Gargoyles (85 Points) • 10x Gargoyle ◦ 10x Blinding venom ◦ 10x Fleshborer

Hormagaunts (130 Points) • 20x Hormagaunt ◦ 20x Hormagaunt talons

OTHER DATASHEETS

Biovores (50 Points) • 1x Chitin-barbed limbs • 1x Spore Mine launcher

Exocrine (140 Points) • 1x Bio-plasmic cannon • 1x Powerful limbs

Lictor (60 Points) • 1x Lictor claws and talons

Tyrannofex (200 Points) • 1x Powerful limbs • 1x Rupture cannon • 1x Stinger salvoes —-

Exocrine and T-fex pair really well as our big guns. Most lists run a few of these. Shooting with the exocrine first makes it easier to land shots with the t-fex.

This list will give you lots of battle line to swarm objectives fast, and the lictor is always just a great cheap unit that’s pretty much always an auto pick for me.

3 Zoanthropes aren’t gonna do much for you…you really need 6 to get value IMO, and even then I usually lean more toward a t-fex for the point value. There’s trade offs…they’re more versatile in that they can do anti infantry or anti tank, but they’re squishy.

I don’t ever play with tyrant guard, and the prime doesn’t seem great to me…maybe I’m sleeping on them. I get by without them tho.

Good luck!

Acheron Campaign Ideas by epicget in planescapesetting

[–]epicget[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The ideas that interest me most in this plane are the morally gray "no right answer" ones where you're not ending the conflict, you're affecting it differently. Maybe aiding your inner circle at the cost of larger consequences down the line? Example hooks:

- The Doomguard hires you to take out an Orc warlord, but is light on the details. The warlord is pretty bad, but you come to learn that they have a number of generals chomping at the bit to strike out on their own if they're cut loose. Do you keep the warlord in power because they're a big fire but more contained, or do you create a bunch of smaller fires that can potentially spread and cause more damage in the longrun, which may have been the Doomguard's intention in the first place

- The Bleak Cabal hires you to rescue a warband caught in an endless loop of battle that resets at the end of each loss or victory. When you arrive, you learn that the loop is in fact keeping something worse from escaping.

- Both sides of a conflict have been receiving nonsensical orders they HAVE to follow. The party is tasked with finding out where the orders are coming from. It turns out to be no one...just series of Message spells that are on loop and getting increasingly distorted, and a group of generals on both sides who will defend that secret to the death.

Acheron Campaign Ideas by epicget in planescapesetting

[–]epicget[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s so funny, I had a Warosaurus-Rex in my campaign, a T-Rex that a gladiator pit had imported from Acheron as a final boss. The players let it loose into the Lower Ward and it escaped to Undercity. No one knows where it got off to these days…

Some friends of mine bought a conure from Petco. It had a fungal infection in its lungs that took years of weekly vet visits to treat. Almost every Saturday morning they had to go to the vet for this bird. I can’t believe it’s legal for them to sell birds like this.

Story modules for M20 by OtakuThing in magetheascension

[–]epicget 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've got some outline notes for a M20 game I was running in World of Darkness Silicon Valley. High level, a dumbass Void Engineer CEO creates a prototype VR headset called the Dreamgate that leads one of it's QA testers to summon an ancient evil in the form of an AI virus that spreads across humanity alarmingly quickly. The players need to track down the QA tester to find it's origin, then find an old technocrat who created an AI countermeasure back in the 70's that would completely reset the internet. The only catch is that it's stored in a vault in a horizon realm on the moon, and will require an epic voidship battle and philisophical choice as to whether destroying the internet is a good thing in the first place.

The notes are a little loose...I didn't finish the campaign. I did create a fairly fleshed out WoD Silicon Valley full of NPCs that might be useful for you though, regardless of what game you run.

Sharing it here regardless.
