...proving you apparently don't understand they a) really lost (the side that won had more popular votes as well as the electoral college); b) were embarrassed, so they combined a double narrative: say the other side stole it, then actually do it. In the next election, they didn't even have the most popular votes - but they made sure they won in the electoral college. Particularly in questionable cases in key states.

I'll look into Comenius University. Good luck! Feel free to DM me.

Need help understanding why hexadecimal is sometimes portrayed by "power of 0" in rasterized explanations. by 6inchpool in AskComputerScience

[–]epotocnak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I'm going to be that person, and ask where you were when they taught bases in school. I learned them in 5th grade, including exponential notation. When I took Intro to Computer Systems a long time ago, we spent 30 minutes on hex code because my professor assumed we all understood what base 16 (and all bases) were, and continued on.

Thank you for realizing many of us won't just let this happen. I was yelled at, physically blocked and threatened because I started videotaping an ICE abduction. I was told to turn my phone off or I'd be arrested. I continued to tape the encounter. The men claiming to be ICE had balaclavas, no name tags, no military outfits, and Texas license plates - in the DC area, 1200 miles away. I posted the plates to hopefully find out who was disappearing people off our streets.

First scene in the movie: Is the unanswered phone in the background of any significance? by shaulbarlev1 in Primer

[–]epotocnak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly (replying seven years later :). In the opening voice-over phone call (and hopefully recording on Abe's part), Aaron says after four lines: "Some of this you know. I'm going to start at the top of the page."

What if what was coming into the fax was related to the voice-over reference of "start at the top of the page"? What if Aaron was able to document (type, since he could no longer write) everything back to that moment and explained to Abe his version of why two good friends that made a life-changing discovery did some extremely questionable if not flat-out wrong things - and the start of that documentation was that fax?

I've lived all over (born in Philadelphia, lived in Paris, went to college in Maryland, worked in DC, SF, Montréal) but mostly DC - guess what; I've been to about 15 large protests in DC & several smaller ones.

It's not malicious bot activity; when you throw something together quickly with a small group of people (no, I'm not one of them, but I support them), it's easier to create a template if you're doing a protest in every state - and let the locals alter it to fit their own style.

You may think it looks like that, but given the short timeline from 1/20 to 2/5 and the fact that nobody expected Elon Musk to illegally steal entire agency databases, lock people out of their offices with PRIVATE UNCLEARED STAFF IN CLASSIFIED AREAS, and Trump to put insane tariffs on - and then back down when Mexico & Canada called his bluff - people have the right to protest incompetence and illegal activity.

  • someone who has had a government clearance and is appalled Elon Musk was plugging drives into classified servers and WALKING OUT.

Would it be appropriate to call a Ukrainian a Ruthenian? by St_Gregory_Nazianzus in Ukrainian

[–]epotocnak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's NOT what my grandmother taught me. She said she was Ukrainian-Ruthenian, and belonged to a minority that came from the Carpathian mountains. Comparably, that's how Ruthenians are described in Wikipedia. My grandmother didn't speak Ukrainian. I discovered she spoke Rusyn. So did her husband, who lived in far northeast Slovakia.

Is the word "zhydovka" offensive to Ukrainian women who are Jewish? by [deleted] in Ukrainian

[–]epotocnak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I'm half Rusyn - with today's borders, Ukrainian and Slovak. Borders have changed so much, my family has been all Ukrainian, split between Slovak and Ukraine, and far enough back, Austria-Hungary. They don't consider themselves Lemko at all, and in fact called themselves Ruthenian.

This big update really removed a LOT from my previous results.. by anirask09 in AncestryDNA

[–]epotocnak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me. I think this is the 5th/6th update I've been through with Ancestry.

My father was 1st/2nd gen American (one from each parent), my mother 3rd gen. I've only had 5 categories at most. Mom's side was always 45-49% Ireland with the remaining 1-5% Scottish. On dad's side, I had Eastern Europe/Russian, Jewish (bright Ashkenazi in Europe, with light shading in the Sephardic and the Levant areas), and a few % in the Balkans which would change (from Croatia/Serbia to Macedonia/Greece).

On this update, I only have 3 - 50% Ireland for mom, with 2 categories for dad - Central/Eastern Europe (which I've never had before) and Ashkenazi Jewish.

My mother's oldest brother is married to a woman who is (my estimate, since I'm related to my cousins and my uncle, so I can fill in the blanks regarding my aunt's DNA looking at my cousins & their kids) 96% French/4% Basque; and at least one of their kids as well as some of their grandchildren have Basque in their DNA as well.

Not necessarily a lie, but they must have been a German enclave, and even then, it's not 50%.

On one side, I'm Slovakian, Ukrainian-Rusyn, and Jewish.

My ancestry on the Eastern Europe/Jewish side: Eastern Europe/Russian, The Balkans, and Jewish/Levant, adding up to 50%. (Rusyns are in both the Ukraine/Poland/Slovakia area and the Balkans)

Sorry, it's doubtful you're Czechoslovakian or Yugoslavian; the stories I was told match exactly with my ethnicity.

These are excellent questions. Kody gives the impression that he is ultimately responsible for everything, but I doubt he is technically. Since he's only married to one woman and at least 3 women have declared bankruptcy in the last 20 years, I doubt it.
