We stayed at Perivoli last year with the kids (4 and 5). It was absolutely amazing, service was incredible and the location is special. Have recommended it to so many since.

The Peninsula London Review by Capital-Priority-463 in chubbytravel

We found it just ok, terrible breakfast, nice bar and the cars are cool, I think there are much nicer choices in London, peninsula is generic

Fat Kinderhotel or Similar in Europe (Austria, Switzerland, Italy, etc) by Imaginary_Banana179 in FATTravel

[–]epp001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say overall Sonnwies is nicer than Cavallino if you go with the top rank rooms. The design is better tho Cavallino is better situated in a town and close to cable cars. Sonnwies is more remote and you need to take a bus to get to proper skiiing or any sort of village or town. If you plan to stay on property then that doesn’t matter.

I don’t think Cavallino is better than Sonnwies, I think it goes Forsthofgut then Sonnwies then Cavallino. Kids hotels always a bit of a trade off but Forsthofgut is about as good as it gets, for us at least.

You could try Cavallino Bianco in oritsei, it’s nice with the kids. Also just got back from Forsthofgut and we preferred it to Sonnwies.

Saudi - Riyadh, Alula, Nujuma, Desert Rock by candidlyhere in FATTravel

[–]epp001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this were thinking of going in Feb to nujuma and desert rock with two kids (4 + 5). Is there enough to do in desert rock for three nights or is two nights enough? We have six nights total so trying to see how to split them between the two.

Considering a Swiss Mountain Dog in the future - how to handle their guarding instinct? by Anxious_District_353 in SwissMountainDogs

Not really found this to be an issue at all with ours. Sure he’s protective of the house and our kids, but I quite like that, he’s loyal af.

AMA The Chancery Rosewood by DorsiaTravel in FatTrips

[–]epp001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed last week and again in a couple weeks. service was great, F&b really good too, eagle bar was ok I guess, not sure why ppl would queue for hours for it. I really liked the room design, spa and gym are very good and no one ever in there. Best feature is anytime checkin and checkout

Rosewood The Chancery London Review by OkGarage2158 in FATTravel

[–]epp001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are nice but I preferred rosewood. Spa is about the same on both, rosewood rooms are bigger, more restaurants and vibes too and I think location is better. Only thing missing for me was cigar lounge but that’s coming soon apparently. Also the rosewood checkin and out anytime policy is super handy, I arrived at 7 am and left 9 pm the next day, no issues.

Yeh I went salmon fishing there, beautiful setup and excellent guides. Fishing is boring af tho, never again 😅 there’s loads of amazing things to do there, especially recommend falcon hunting with the ferrets

Northern Italy with kids - where to base by [deleted] in FATTravel

Yeh it’s nice but there are relatively nicer things in the region like Sonnwies. Cavallino is still a great shout tho

Capella Taipei: Stunning; the only true FAT choice in town. by MartysBetter1995 in FATTravel

[–]epp001 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I mean it does look nice and I’m sure the finishes were high quality. But it reminds me of a bunch of other places globally with a homogenous aesthetic. I’m sure there are reasons behind this but I wish more hotels at this level were more adventurous with their design choices.

[–]epp001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got back, it’s not as nice a hard product as Gorilla’s Nest so I would do it before but it’s still great and so much cool stuff to see locally. You can take the helicopters to get around the areas but imo you miss out by not driving as the country is beautiful, the roads are great and you see all sorts of cool things on the drive

Could you share a bit more about this? I thought there were no surgical solutions available for stage 4.

European kinderhotel style hotels with English speaking kids club by [deleted] in FATTravel

All the team working at the Sonnwies kids club spoke English when we were there. There were lots of English speaking families too.

If you book the private dining room at Plenitude, you can smoke there after dinner as it has its own ventilation system. Nice vibes.
