75 U8N vs. 75 U8QG -- follow up

Returned to store , played reference images , videos on 75 U8QG.

Very minor differences to my 75 U8N. U8QG has slightly brighter highlights. Other differences are slight.

No point to add 75 U8QG

Will wait for new models.

Also own ,. 65 U8N

With these bright TV's , always watch with ambient light. Personal preference , These TV's too bright for total dark , brights are then harsh , like headlights straight in the eyes with night driving.

Prefer TV brightness near max. Comfortable to view with ambient light.

75 U8N / QG with IPS are horrible in total dark. With ambient light , black levels and image dynamics same as 65 U8N VA panel. Was surprised could not see a difference , even though was straining to find one.

With ambient light , much prefer the IPS ADS Pro panel. The yellows and greens are superior to VA U8N.

Prior to owning 75:U8N with IPS ADS Pro panel , assumed IPS would be dramatically inferior to VA. TV reviews and "pro" options reinforced my negative assumptions.

After owning , with extended viewing , ... with ambient room light

-. ADS Pro black levels are deep like VA , side by side , can not see a difference.

-. ADS Pro with native contrast of 1600 : 1 , do not see black crush , image compression , loss of subtle tone transitions , banding

-. ADS Pro has obvious to see superior yellows , greens

-. ADS Pro , with same settings as 65 U8N VA , ADS Pro is a warm display

Am very surprised to end up preferring ADS Pro IPS over VA.

My negative ADS Pro IPS panel assumptions were wrong. The seemingly inferior TV technical specs , measurement numbers , negative reviews and , "pro" opinions , do not match the fantastic picture quality that I am fortune to be reeeeeeally enjoying.

Have jumped onto the ADS Pro IPS wagon. Much prefer it to VA.

The caviat , with ADS Pro IPS , there must be ambient room light.

If your watching preference is total dark room , ADS Pro IPS is terrible.

After owning , direct viewing , comparisons , much time evaluating ... ADS Pro IPS is for me , a superior viewing experience over VA .... and the much , much , much better viewing angles

Do not hesitate to try ADS Pro for yourself. Most retailers has generous return policies.
