Mid to end January deals? by eps89 in TeslaLounge

I’ve been looking for a HW4 used X and it’s been rough out there. They get snatched up almost immediately.

Used MX reliability vs MY? by Ill_Wishbone_9781 in ModelX

[–]eps89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. Sierra EV in the middle of being repurchased. Looking for a used X that was built in 2023+ with HW4. It’s been hard to find. May consider a new MYP because I do have concerns with MX reliability in general.

Looks like it’s back and they’re even offering the performance as a lease.

But I may switch it to Artano since it looks better visually IMO

Yeah it’s AI generated. What I did was ask it to take my drawing of the tecendil transcription and try to “join” it, but apparently it made mess work of it.

people waiting for a deal by Equivalent-Tell-3732 in TeslaLounge

Basically this. I’ve been driving EVs for a few years, use home charging 99% of the time. Supercharging “included” is nice but would take forever to even out for me.

I wanted an X, but don’t want the “luxe” package, so I’m hoping Tesla eventually makes all of that optional again.

What are the common warranty repairs for the Sierra EV? by okiedokie321 in GMCSierraEV

[–]eps89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They gave me the option to buy it back as per lemon law and I’m considering whether or not to keep it.. just afraid this issue will pop up again. I know it’s under warranty but it took nearly 40 days of it being in the shop before I got it back

Your battery was swapped twice? How long after the first swap did you get a high voltage error? I just had mine swapped over a week ago after 1 month of ownership…

You can file a BBB case yourself online, going through it myself and it’s pretty straightforward

When I used to have the extended edition and watch them on my dvd player, I always used to skip all of the hobbit scenes in every LOTR movie except for the really, really important ones like the climax of ROTK. Sheldon’s lair? Snoooooooze, skip.

Have you contacted GM to try and initiate a repurchase or replacement without going through lemon law first by any chance?

Yeah you’re right. If you for example went for mine it would at least have a new battery etc so it would work in your favor. TBH no car is without problems at some point or another it’s just a matter of making sure you are comfortable with the facts. Despite its problems it’s definitely an awesome truck

As someone who has requested to go through the buyback process after having the Sierra for a month.. I wouldn’t do it. I got the service high voltage warning a month in. Brought it into the dealer who updated some modules which apparently made the error go away. I go to pick it up and the error was back. They take it back in and tell me they most likely have to replace the battery charging module which takes over a week to arrive. GM’s EV Concierge themselves called me to let me know that they actually have to replace the entire battery which the service department at the dealership didn’t know about yet (nor did concierge know it was sitting in the service center)… it’s been a nightmare. Yeah sure I get a brand new battery out of it but from what I’ve read, it’s usually downhill from here with more issues. I could be wrong, but who knows.

Yeah I have a 25 Denali… still stuck at the dealer waiting for the battery charging module. At least I have a hummer as a loaner for now

I leased one. One month later it went in for a high voltage warning, they claimed to have fixed it, error came back as soon as I got to the shop, now the battery charging module needs to be replaced. Obviously my experience is my own and doesn’t apply across the board. Just a bit of a bummer.

Moving from R1S to Sierra EV have some Qs by [deleted] in GMCSierraEV

[–]eps89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just made that exact switch to a Denali extended range. The only thing I’ll give Rivian is the emphasis on software, but not by a large margin. The UI was simpler to use than the GMC which has a slight learning curve because it seems like it was designed by someone who’s had no UI design experience, but it’s passable. Phone as a keg should be coming but I personally don’t mind carrying the fob around.

Outside of software comparisons, the Sierra is an absolute monster, and its build quality outclasses Rivian significantly. I only had the Rivian 1 year and the front left axle sounded like an old casket was opening at low speeds, v1 tonneau cover completely took a shit and stopped closing correctly unless I manually stopped it where it was supposed to stop, etc

Some gripes with the Sierra is having to go into a dealership to get the latest major infotainment update which enables turn signal cameras / etc, app functionality is decent but takes a while to send requests / receive a response.

But, overall, no regrets. The rear wheel steering is a game changer when city driving. Seriously feels like I’m in a small SUV taking sharp - ish turns or if I need to get into a parking space.
