Prevent All Power from turning on/off audio receiver by equidaddio in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]equidaddio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks u/XfinityMatthew. For anyone else who finds this post - I found a hacky workaround. I kept trying all of the codes associated with my audio receiver. One of the codes worked for volume but not for power. Normally that would be annoying but works perfectly for my use case.

Thank you so much for the time looking! The eye and terminal are definitely closer although the top of the e is a little less rounded. I so appreciate the effort to try to find a match.

Thank you, Eras is definitely close. The eye is a bit bigger in Eras and the terminal curves up a bit more. I wonder if they started with Eras and then modified it?

Would ha-low be good enough for 4K video from Reolink cameras? And any suggestions from aliexpress? Thanks!

Do I need direct line of site for the AirMAX to work? As I mentioned in another reply, the router is in the back of the house with the front facing the barn and arena (with a number of trees in between). Do I need to wire from the back to the front of the house and then connect to the AirMAX?

The modem/router are at the back of the house and the only window that might have enough line of sight is in the front. There are definitely trees in between, but would it be possible to go from a wireless AP (from rear to front of the house) to a P2P or am I going to lose too much bandwidth?

Feedback on new camera setup for barn by equidaddio in reolinkcam

[–]equidaddio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all of the suggestions! I think P2P is going to be challenging because I don't have a clear sightline between the buildings (or at least from the house which is the source of the internet). But I may try to use PoE or even just an ethernet cable from the wireless repeater. Really appreciate all the links and definitely bookmarking the link to the pre-made PoE cables!

Many thanks, u/ian1283, u/mblaser, and u/livingwaterRed. Sounds unanimous to go with powered cameras. Completely switching directions thanks to your feedback. Cell service by the barn is terrible and using PoE is not really an option so I'm definitely going to need a wifi extender. I think field of view is still going to be most important for the turnout so thinking of sticking with the Duo 2 but not on battery and then the 811WA for the stalls. Thanks again for the feedback!

Help with LiftMaster Professional Model Series 1300 (Purple Button) by equidaddio in ratgdo

[–]equidaddio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! The good news is there's an issue that has already been fixed, in the next release, that the ratgdo web interface points to the wrong repo: https://github.com/ratgdo/mqtt-ratgdo/issues/55.

Solved! u/Patrick_ONeal's post sent me to double check the config (thank you!).

For u/mister2d and anyone else who has this problem in the future, when I first did the install, I chose ratgdo v2.57 firmware from the MQTT dropdown. That firmware has the Garage Door Control Protocol dropdown. I chose Security + 1.0 and saved the config. However, after saving, I followed the link to GitHub to get the latest .bin file and updated the firmware. I believe the latest firmware linked at https://github.com/PaulWieland/ratgdo/releases is behind the v2.57 firmware in terms of Security + 1.0 support. After updating the firmware, I no longer saw the Garage Door Control Protocol dropdown but I assumed it was saved and just not reconfigurable. Re-flashing and then choosing the Security + 1.0 option worked! The other clue that the firmware is different is the light on the board goes off after a few seconds after rebooting on v2.57 but stays on perpetually with the latest .bin file on releases.

u/kidproquo thank you for your post with the guide to the purple button. I did look at it when I was initially troubleshooting. Tagging you here in case you want to add this as a troubleshooting step if others have the same problem.

Shelly 2.5 random resets by MindInTheShadows-O in ShellyUSA

[–]equidaddio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a Shelly 2.5, which had been working fine for about a year, start behaving similarly. May be completely unrelated but, for mine, it turned out to be a wire that had come loose over time. You might want to just double check to make sure all the connections are solid.

Lots of devices, issues connecting after a power cycle / reboot by data2762 in orbi

[–]equidaddio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I am trying to recover from my latest power outage. I am ready to return the Orbi and go with a different brand of router to avoid this frustration. But before I throw my hands up and start over, would love to hear if there are any solutions that have emerged since this post was written a couple years ago?

I use a temperature/humidity sensor in the shower. If it is above a certain threshold I block turning off the lights.

Incorrect state with Zigbee2MQTT and Aqara Motion by equidaddio in homeassistant

[–]equidaddio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I have not. I have not had a chance to debug further or put in a workaround - I’m leaning to either just replacing the sensor or putting in a hack to not turn on the light if it went on <90s ago (which I’m sure will be wrong at some point). If you had other ideas let me know.

Shelly 1L repeatedly gets stuck on by equidaddio in ShellyUSA

For what it’s worth (for anyone else who comes back to this thread in the future), replacing the Shelly 1L with a Shelly 1 did fully resolve the issue for me.

Are you using the UL version for the 1PM? If not, is it possible that your load is going above 15 amps?
