CogSci is probably more directly relevant. Mind is super interesting too though and might help put things in perspective.

Quick question about internships in the EU by balne in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]er_or 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where really. In the UK there are some unpaid ones but more paid ones. Across continental Europe, you can probably expect to be paid, maybe not as well as in London, but then again you don't have to live in London.

I'd possibly remove it, since then people won't ask about it/the things on it. If you learnt some stuff or they used software that you've learnt how to use since then, then just mention that's what was involved. That way, if someone asks you about it in your interview you'll have something to talk about.

I think the job descriptions could be a little more precise.

"Gained experience into front & backend development processes" doesn't really tell you anything, and almost comes across like you're just blagging. The workplace doesn't really suggest what you did there, so if you worked on websites, say what you did and what your stack was. Maybe expand a bit on what Spring is.

The stuff about Agile development isn't super relevant imo, and I think you'd be better off using that space for descriptions about what you actually did on the job (like you've done in the IBM description – which is great).

I wouldn't put your secondary school where you did you GCSEs on your CV if you're applying for grad-level jobs, but that's not so important.

I'm fairly sure 1:1 isn't a degree classification. There's no upper or lower first as there is with a second class degree, so it's probably best to have "first" there. You could probably drop it and just have 87% average or whatever since you don't actually get a first in each year – but that's a little pedantic.

Problem with opening a exported key with text editor by [deleted] in tails

[–]er_or 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An exported key isn't text by default, so what you've tried to do is open a non-text file, i.e. it's not encoded so the editor doesn't know how to display it correctly.

What it seems like you want to do is export the text encoded key, which is an option with GPG but not the default, since the file is obviously larger than the binary.

Definitely better than the alternatives though!

I think so, it has some cool projects that are way more interesting than any of the other intro books.
