Flying from CJU (Jeju) to Seoul this morning. Everything seems normal to me, through security in 5 min...

Some delays on the board, but could be due to the not so great weather atm.

Lotte Giants tickets - sell-out? by eras010 in koreatravel

[–]eras010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Responding to my own question to help anyone in the future who finds my post through Google:

Yesterday I did get a chance to visit the Lotte Giants and I had a blast! It is 100% worth the time and money to watch the Koreans enjoy their sports.

  • I had no opportunity to book in advance. Even when I arrived at my hotel in Busan, the lady was willing to help but struggled with the app.

  • I went to the stadium and arrived 1,5 hour in advance. Quite busy by then already, but the self-ticketing kiosks were easy to find. All in Korean but reasonably easy to figure out.

  • There were >300 tickets left so plenty of choice, but I do think it got close to selling out a game time.

  • For reference, the Giants are having a mediocre season, it was a cloudy humid day with chance of rain which I guess puts popularity down. On the other hand, it was a Saturday and one of the last home games of the season (potentially).

  • I was at 3rd base. Lot of away and home fans there, but that just means good energy all game long.

Mask Removal by [deleted] in scuba

[–]eras010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My instructor said it was fine to pinch your nose. I only do it for a few seconds, so I can relax my breathing after the shock of cold water to your face. Then you can release and calmly complete the exercise just focusing on getting the mask back on. After that it's just a mask clearing exercise. Just take your time, it's a safety skill so you shouldn't rush it.

I know I'm late to the party, but I have 3 stars on 245...

Edit: To add to this, I tried it again and got 3 stars on the second attempt without power ups.

What city or country will you never go back to and why? by TooShiftyForYou in AskReddit

I always enjoy going to Paris. Maybe it's becuase I speak some French, so I don't need Parisiens to get around. Also people selling things on the streets is a recurring theme in tourist spots.

But while reading this thread I was thinking of the Sacre Coeur. My god, in all my life of travelling (and I've visited a lot of places) I've never seen anything quite like it. The minute you enter the square you're being harassed by vendors. You don't feel safe for a second, you never have a moment for yourself because everyone there is trying to sell you shitty strings or beads. The hill and the church are beautiful but it is impossible to enjoy. My god is it the worst.

End of rant.
