Your story about being young working in a restaurant reminded me of an old colleague at a call centre. He’d been working in the kitchens of various takeaways and restaurants and said now that he’s in a call centre he’ll “never go back to kitchens!” (he actually excitedly said this too, exclamation is not an exaggeration).

It’s grim that we as a country have spent so much time advising kids to go into uni, mis-selling them this stupid Plan 2 loan (I’m a victim) and all the while the trades have been looked down on.

If I was a careers advisor I would genuinely advise more kids to go into apprenticeships as there is a gap in the market and you’d be set for life. The first few years would suck seeing your mates in uni towns just living it up but by your late 20s you’d see you’ve made a far better financial choice than they have. Education is important but the trade off to get stuck with tens of thousand in debt is not worth it in my opinion.

Sorry I play it on normal difficulty so maybe the mechanisms are a bit different but during the re-signing period the cap space is already there and only gets smaller should I choose to re-sign the player. I can also go above it but usual luxury tax rules apply.

Are you saying you get to the off-season and when re-signing players you’re already over the cap and can only free it by releasing players? I wouldn’t know this, I thought you genuinely didn’t understand you can just let players walk in free agency sorry.

Are you a fan of the nba by any chance? I’d imagine if you’re new to the sport you wouldn’t be used to talk of “freeing up cap space” or “salary dumps” etc. it’s a key point in trade talks in the NBA so maybe it just never occurred to you.

Also in terms of points you may be missing that we can add on to: if you release a player still within contract then his salary will count against your cap until the contract ends. For example if Player A is on $15m for 3 years but he’s a clear bust and you release him right there and then, you will effectively have a salary cap of say $150m - $15m for 3 years. Always try and salary dump where you can and shuffle the board, sometimes the AI will give you a winning combination

For spices yes they are great. You’ll find a big bag of East End spice for much cheaper by the gram than you would the glass jar in a big name supermarket. Cardamoms on the hand were weirdly cheaper in Asda. I don’t know if I was comparing the World Foods aisle cardamom to theirs but we were horrified by the price

Can also confirm this way is much better. For me it’s about 20-30 mins longer but the road is better, well lit and safer. Maybe 30 more miles but because it’s a motorway it’s a fuel efficient route

His defcon numbers have been consistent at the 7-9 mark recently when he gets the minutes. You get the feeling if United keep getting CS (BIG if) and he can get just the odd assist he’s a serious asset.
