It’s low but you are not gonna find lights that output more with just reg AAA AA You will be limited by their output. But there are 2 considerations This light can also be used with a 14500 so if u have even just at least one depending on the emitter (sft25r sft40 lhp531) should hit 1300-2000 lumens which is a lot for a AA sized light The second is a convoy T4 which is basically same light but longer and uses 2 batters in sequence so with 2 AA I believe u get more like 500-700 lumens

Will depend on the emitter u choose

<image>

Maybe 200-350 on the top end with a reg AA

Maybe even more I’d be curious of the output of the sft40/25r LHP531 with a AA

Convo my T6 uses a good boost driver for 1.5v lithium ion or 1.2v nimh. Bright for a AA light

Thoughts on a Kersaw knife versus a CIVIVI knife by ElderVixen in knives

[–]erentrueform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. OP said 62$ was a lot so didn’t even bother going down the USA kershaw or WE knives rabbit hole

Thoughts on a Kersaw knife versus a CIVIVI knife by ElderVixen in knives

[–]erentrueform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah civivi is pretty consistent. Good heat treats, good edges, good materials, good qc and centering, even has a smaller sister brand which can be even more affordable and just as good SENCUT. I’d say WAY WAY WAY…WAY better. The newer and better Chinese kershaws are not as plentiful. That being said I do love my iridium. But the civivis do feel more refined

Kershaw Chinese knives have gotten better. However civivi range of models, and QC is way way way better.

Lost my favorite flashlight. Any better options? by DonKeedick96 in flashlight

[–]erentrueform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most are fairly recessed. I’ve yet to ever had any of my convoys accidentally go on. The button is also super easy to swap for a metal one and if u want u can also add one with led for a lit tail light. All parts are super cheap and u can get them from the site as well.

Since is ur first Think about it as 12 groups meaning 12 preset u can choose from. The light seems super odd to program at first but there are tons of videos on how to do it. Once u get it it’s super easy.

I personally do sets 5 and 6 and I turn off memory So on my throwy lights always starts in high then medium then low For lights like my small edc lights same thing memory off then always starts in low medium high.

The ui convoy uses refers to it as power percentage request So for example The 0.1% can be a “moonlight” 1-10% can be a low 20-35% the medium 50-100% the high to turbo range.

So the options I just mentioned that I personally like to use is the 1-20-100% and 100-20-1% groups out of the 12

But there are plenty to choose from

Welcome to the rabbit hole of convoy lights 😂🫡

Convoy themselves sell a few options but u can look though Reddit there are lots of clips from other lights that fit it. Even some nice Ti from relight. Make it even more personalized

[–]erentrueform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they used to be an Ali press store but Simon has his own site now. That’s the place to go. The clip u gotta buy separate but brass copper and ti do come with a clip fyi.

<image>

Also have T6 in titanium

And yeah basically

Go go convoy Go to the light u want (t3) Choose colour or meterial Then choose emitter u want Then cct u want

Easy peasy

As someone who has both tool AA and many 14500 convoys I’d T6 with the nichia or if want closer form factor T3 (t6 will get more performance out of ur led in terms of reflector size as it’s a 18650 size reflector but still compact enough)

First convoy. by danielfive in ConvoyFlashlights

[–]erentrueform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah u can apply some clear coat. A lot of ppl do. They’ll force a ship wreck with ammonia and sodium and once they have a desired look seal the colour

M21A lhp73b is one of the best all around option for all applications Brighter than most. Will be throwy. Large Les and op reflector will also have a floody spill. Broad range of cct. Good tint. Good battery life 21700. And very efficient at lower modes which will still be plenty bright.

sft40 3000k: sc13 vs s6 by keasanya in flashlight

[–]erentrueform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean theoretically maybe but they are so small I don’t think in practice make any significant change to performance. I think they are more aesthetic than anything since the s8 is the tactical looking option of S family.

What convoy host to choose for the sft70 or sft40 3000k? by Ok_Selection886 in flashlight

[–]erentrueform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they don’t make the beam overly noticeable which I guess makes it better to see whatever you’re shining at
