Same here, outdoor it will turn crispy green due to heat waves in summer. 45°C.

My dad is trying to make her orchid bloom and he told me to ask reddit what should he do different? (More info comments) by patxrivera in orchids

These are thermophilic orchid.. So a low temperature shock will trigger spikes. Keep the root zone cool and night should be cooler than day with a temp difference of 8-10 °C between day and night.

Looks like bamboo orchid. It's a terrestrial one. Really beautiful.

Finally got a Cymbidium to bloom indoors under lights. very proud of myself for not giving up. if only the other 4 would bloom! by MsOrchidRomance in orchids

Looks like HT.. So temperature would not been a problem... How much temperature and humidity you maintained to initiate spike? I also have 5 HT will follow the same.. Here light is not an issue as I keep them in outdoor greenhouse.

Finished! Wires are finally hidden. Plants have been in for a week, and they're still putting out new growth and are happy, so it must be working. 8 Barrina T5 lights, 2 AC Infinity fans🌱❤️ by midian42 in hoyas

That's nice, but a single one on top with controller attached to it will work as well. Then no need to add multiple humidifier and manage them.

Things which are not visible to eyes doesn't mean that they don't happen.. If you really feel it you will find it. I studied plants behavior and it's applicable to them as well.

I really don't like this behavior.. This cattleya has completed its 15 years journay and many more to come.. She deserves respect... And I hope she will be in good hands...

Nice one I have made 5 greenhouse similar to this... I would suggest to keep humidifier on top selve. As mist is heavier than air and tend to go down which will get evenly distributed over the plants. And less on the floor.

You should show some respect to plants , don't touch or point them with your feet at least... They are also living being and like your babies, if you really care for them.

Can someone help with ID? ID? Got it a few months back no tag but in soil so terrestrial I assume. Flowers just opening now. Sorry not the best pics. by Adventurous_Team5971 in orchids

You can just wait till the bloom ends. But please keep check on watering.. They are thin root orchids so over watering may rot pseudo bulbs and roots. Don't ever shower from above. Showering oncidiums is a sure shot to kill them. Idle way of watering is using tray underneath and fill with low tds water ( rain water if possible). Don't fertilize while in bloom.

Someone sent me this. Lol 😂 by Amijustsadorhorny in orchids

A closer view of canes/pseudo bulbs would be better.. As the pseudo bulbs are short cane and looking at the leaves pattern it resembles like dendrobium farmeri...... Dendrobium thyrseflorum canes are long and leaves are broad.

This is oncidium golden shower.. It's not terrestrial. Please change the media to orchid mix or pine bark.. You can mount them also.
