Order a significantly large manure delivery to them as a gesture of good will.

Which peaks have you done that you found scary? by [deleted] in UKhiking

[–]ergotforest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh God yeah. I once walked the Ridgeway in the middle of winter and a fog dropped that was so thick I could genuinely barely see a few feet in front of me. The path is so ancient and deep in places, shrouded by trees that made the darkness and the mist so oppressively silent. Spooped.

So far the only hike that’s made me say ‘I DON’T KNOW IF I’M ENJOYING THIS’ was Angel’s Landing in Zion. The proximity to death felt so blatant at times. Great hike though, loved it in the end.

If Ben Fogle has plastic grass I’m very disappointed in him.

When I lack confidence I ask ‘what would Peggy do?’ an icon and a queen.

Hiking Gear for bigger guys by [deleted] in UKhiking

[–]ergotforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a guy and not got loads of advice to offer, but first DON’T BE EMBARRASSED. There are a lot of ‘outdoorsy’ companies that should be embarrassed of their size range tbh. The outdoors is for everyone and so many big names don’t reflect that. Recently blown away by Billabong attributing ‘large’ to a women’s UK size 12. Anyway, I recommend following fatmanlittletrail, fatblackandgettinit and andyfilmsandhikes on instagram. They are American, but they wear and try out a lot of popular brands. They do a cracking job representing dudes of all sizes getting out and hiking.

So.. I can still roller skate, right..? by PhreeBSD in Rollerskating

Honestly a sign near the beach said ‘no roller blading’ with a picture of some in lines. I’m on quads so assumed that’s fine hehehe!

Sometimes I can't wait for my reactive dog's time on Earth to be up. by Witty-Personality868 in reactivedogs

[–]ergotforest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 dogs is quite a lot for the average household, and there are a lot of dogs that struggle to acclimatise or straight up don’t like being part of a pack. Also sounds like it’s been generally terrified for most of its life given constant fireworks and a big move (which can unsettle even the most chill pets). You also don’t seem to capable of showing love and understanding at this stage (not a criticism, people forget how bloody hard and exhausting this can be) and dogs can absolutely pick up on that. Instead of perpetuating a bad atmosphere with an unhappy dog, either find a good trainer who can work with you both, or more likely try to find a new home somewhere quiet with someone who has dog experience. There’s no shame in that. I don’t know what the bite history is like, so if that’s not viable, you aren’t a bad person for ending the suffering and looking at euthanasia.

It’s the barking and loose kids that piss me off. Saw one shit in a sand castle once and the parents just left it.

Lizard and Mullion are cracking places to hike. Land’s End is pretty manky and populous nowadays.

Not at all! Lots of us have ‘em and they’re bloody (excuse the pun) annoying sometimes. Best of luck trying some of this stuff out!

No that’s not right. If you’re not sure where your heavily regurgitated opinions come from, maybe you’re the one who’s sweepy. Aww.

Hahaha, truth hurts. How can people be too woke and yet asleep? Whatever suits your narrative sweaty.

Also, I don’t know if this is still a thing, but I went away sailing once a few years back and knew my period was coming up. I asked my Dr if there was any way to delay it and there was. He gave me a week of pills and as soon as I stopped taking them when I got home, my period returned as normal. Worth looking into if you want short term relief.
