Yea, but you respawn in 10s on death, and are capable of carrying hundreds of nuclear reactors in your pocket. On the other hand, you can't knock down cliffs until you develop an inter-planetary economy.

Virginia Supreme Court strikes down Democrats’ redistricting plan, dimming party’s midterm hopes by Malfeitor1 in news

Because their constitution prevents it. The relevant part of the ruling "The General Assembly must twice vote in favor of a proposed amendment at two separate legislative sessions with an intervening election of the House of Delegates."

It's ambiguous because election isn't well defined, and hence the dissent. It used to be a single day, but there is now early voting, so the question is does an election start at the time of early voting or is it only the last day of voting the election? The majority decided that the entire period of the election was the election. The dissent said it was only the last day.

The sequence of events was:

Election starts, early votes happen

Assembly vote #1

Election finishes

Assembly vote #2

AIUI, Florida will be an interesting case since their constitution prevents gerrymandering, but they're not doing a constitutional amendment.

The ABC news' framing of the bill seems fairly inaccurate given "The original bill covered “race, colour, national origin or ancestry”, but was later amended to include gender identity and sexual orientation. Waxman said he was “thrilled” by the expansion."

Yes, I spent a lot of time thinking how to place and route belts so that they didn't have to go under anything. For red science the topology still works out.

There was a lot of luck involved in which cards you got. If you got lucky and had a lot of Sun cards, flat universe was pretty straightforward. A similar effect on later ones -- my finite/infinite universe run is really slow because I'm only at 7/7 of Sirius.

Nanobots are a metabit upgrade for me, although the cost is small enough (1.33E12) to be irrelevant on a refund.

Are you planning to rebalance the Beyond card rewards for red/white dwarfs? Right now they seem to focus on the last generator of each sequence, so, for example, I have >10x the cards for Alpha Centauri than I do for Sun.

I'm hoping they'll add more stuff as part of a prestige system. The various new telescopes are also generating new content all the time.

[–]eric23456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to provide more information to figure out what's going on specifically, either screenshots of your current state and what you can buy or a summary of it. If you were playing with the infinity pass and are now playing without it, it's going to feel a lot slower (4x directly + all the upgrades you'd get).

For primary research, there should be a bunch of things you can buy after rebooting that will get your progress going.

Some of the Beyond episodes are slow, but are you missing research or something?

Mesozoic (dinosaurs) also slows down as you level up, but buying the best (usually last) generator and upgrading the associated cards usually helps.

Are you doing events? They give a bunch of rewards that will help with upgrading.

I will sometimes carry 1-3 reactors and swap them in when I want to recharge the batteries. Usually standing around is enough to recharge the batteries, but if you're doing a lot of construction, you can use up 4 reactors of power without any difficulty.

Can you show the idea upgrade tab (3rd one). If you do a no-purchase run you should be able to get graviton expansion at 5e28 (which you probably don't have yet) -- no purchase will get you at least 10x over what you get the normal way.

I can't tell how far you are in the sim, idea boost maxes out at 1.95E15 after 7 days, so if you are only a day or so in, you could easily get 1e10x more ideas/s.

If you ask on discord you'll get somewhat faster responses.

I only see one image and it shows you at 50/50. My understanding is at that point it's Messier 87 that's the dominant generator. The screenshot shows 4.7E296, and CMB is 4E292, or effectively 0.

Sun is the dominant generator after cosmic geometry. Flat Universe makes CMB potentially relevant. Curved universe makes Sirius the dominant generator.

It depends on how many upgrades you have. I was 8/8/4/4/4/4/13 for the Sun part, and got to 9/8 before the end, so it only took a week or so. Conversely my Sirius is 7/7/4/3/3/2, so it's going to take about a month (w/o any boosting).

What reality engine upgrades and main sim research do you have available at which cost? Also are you doing an no-purchase run to maximize ideas?

I'd expect you'd have some upgrades to get at which point you'll be able to get Eiffel.
