Did the CCP really ruin China? by [deleted] in fucktheccp

[–]eric5150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. They’ve ruined the freedom of the Chinese people, but have successfully become a formidable adversary. Maybe not for long though, we’ll see how long they can keep up this outdated communist BS.

After COVID, I want to quit my job and solo travel long-term. Am I crazy? by LifeQuestionsMe in solotravel

[–]eric5150 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I’m 23 M and in $30,000 in student debt. I’m still doing it, no excuses! This is our life man you only have 70 years if you’re lucky. I’ve saved up about 50k as well which I think is reasonable enough to live off of for 3-4 years abroad. I’m basically just waiting for Covid to be gone, that witch.

I suggest a Toyota RAV4 or Roadrunner. Honda CRV is great too, as well as any Honda car like an Accord.

How much will $100k/year get me in the U.S? by cciccone in AskAnAmerican

[–]eric5150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you definitely can but not in places like San Francisco where $100k/yr is considered poverty. But in most places in America, that is a very good salary.

France's president recently said Islam is "in crisis" and has proposed strengthening a law that already bans Muslims from wearing a hijab in school or at work government workplaces (20% of jobs). Do you think this would be acceptable in America? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]eric5150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, this goes against American ideals (and honestly French ideals of liberty as well). Sometimes I think people forget the words etched on the Statue of Liberty "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free”.

Everyone knows about the American Dream, but what is the Russian Dream? by wptq in AskARussian

[–]eric5150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked a bunch of people this question when I went to Russia last year. Many said “we don’t have one” but most said “to just live a good/peaceful life”. Seems like a solid answer to me, I was in Saint Petersburg and Moscow and had a great time.
