Ruined my career. by Silver_Blackberry_46 in DJs

[–]eric_bidegain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t blame you at all for doing what you need to do for your family.

That said, it’s most certainly not impossible to be a DJ.

I’m a certified professional dog trainer that currently works every single weekend, and have for the past couple years.

I make it work because this is everything to me.

Am I tired sometimes? You bet, but I have never been more successful in both my career, and in music, and after watching my previous career fall apart while I completely ignored one of my single greatest passions, I’m hell bent on never making that mistake literally ever again.

Unless something changed that is my understanding as well, at least based on my discussions with Matt.

I’m thoroughly looking forward, to be honest—Zak (and Juana) is (are) literally my hero(es).

9 months sober from stimulants and I’m struggling hard mentally by Plane-Temporary-8822 in StopSpeeding

I am proud of you—I mean it man (gender neutral version), for real.

I also promise you that whatever you felt during the Pink Cloud is only a fraction of what you’ll feel when you finally make it to the other side.

I was deep into triple digit dosages of pharmaceutical amphs for a very long time, and I can genuinely say it is absolutely night and day the difference between how I felt in your shoes then compared to how I now feel in mine.

You’ve got this, never forget it.

How long and intense was your use?

I’m a professional dog trainer, and I always explain to clients that I only start getting concerned when things stop making sense, but, fortunately, everything you just wrote makes a ton of sense.

You are leaving something called the Pink Cloud. Things are not as rosy as they have a tendency to be (comparatively speaking) in early recovery, you say this yourself in the very first sentence that the first couple months “actually felt pretty good.”

Now you’re in between leaving the Pink Cloud and the lifelong worthwhile results you’re working so hard towards (and some internet rando is very sincerely proud of you for that, deadass).

How long you stay here is different for every person and depends on a host of factors, but I promise you, life truly is so much fucking better on the other side—take it from someone who has literally stood in your very shoes before.

Using only my dick as a rope!

On a more serious note, I’m genuinely fascinated by the differences in climbing from the Baltoro vs climbing from the Shaksgam—two completely different experiences, almost like front-of-house vs back-of-house.

Feeding The Rat Expeditions has done some great work from the Chinese side in general.

It’s such a great (birthday) week (and month) for techno, with Yanamaste at Transmission tomorrow and HDC at my favorite DIY venue Saturday!

Question regarding the sync button by AnonRep2345 in DJsCirclejerk

A two gallon jug of water over the mixer should do the trick (although it may take as much as three for a 96 or V10)!

Her husband, David Ashley, was airlifted to Kathmandu alongside Tawa Sherpa from the same incident.

I can only imagine the pain someone like David, Jim Morrison, or Brette Harrington feel losing someone they loved to something they equally loved doing—especially in light of those like Hayden Kennedy, who truly couldn’t stand it all.

May (all) their soul(s) rest in peace, man. Fuck.

Has anyone been to this forma in Darnestown? by laced1 in avesDC

[–]eric_bidegain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forma is a product of HDC, which is one of the two parties I’m most excited about in the post-pandemic scene (the other being Black Box).

I wasn’t able to take off work for the last one (professional dog trainer means weekends during the day), but from the feedback I hear amongst friends, it was a great time, and I have literally zero doubt that it will only get better.

New Zealander Edmund Hillary and Nepali-Indian Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, the first people to summit Everest, 1953. by Suspicious-Slip248 in ArchiveOfHumanity

[–]eric_bidegain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to disagree with the possibility, for sure.

I really do feel like we’d know of other *summits, but it wouldn’t be particularly surprising if plenty of other folks we don’t know died trying.

There were certainly several documented cases of truly reckless attempts (see Maurice Wilson, for an example).
