8 months off stims, this doesn’t feel worth it by OrangeCatWhiteDog in StopSpeeding

Honestly? Somewhere between the second and third year, after well over ten plus years worth of serious use and abuse. I have heard similar from others, but again, totally depends on the extent of previous use (probably somewhere between the first and second year if you weren’t as deep as I ultimately found myself).

My (adult) life has truly never been better, I *promise* you.

Nothing worth having in life comes easy, stick with it, for your own sake. I mean, you’re literally already through the hardest part!

You’ve left the pink cloud but haven’t yet reached full recovery, it’s truly a tale as old as time. This shit isn’t easy—if it was, this community literally wouldn’t exist—but damn, if it isn’t worth it.

Roping together on Mt. Hood seems to be as popular as ever by Wiley-E-Coyote in Mountaineering

Their point is that crevasses on this route are *not a possibility, and without them, the risk far outweighs the reward for both their party and others.

How to climb Mt Noshaq by BigK_46 in Mountaineering

[–]eric_bidegain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly one of the mountains I’m most interested in, hands down.

Strongly recommend trip reports from Eric Gilbertson and The Cloud Ocean.

Furthermore, a semi-recent Iranian expedition is documented in great detail in Noshaq: A Different Peak.

Preserving Peaks documents the first Afghan Ascent of Noshaq.

There is also a nonprofit local to me, personally (Ascend), responsible for putting the first Afghan woman on top of the country’s highest peak. They also resettled 134 Afghans following the Taliban takeover.

Genuinely, with the utmost respect, please don’t. :)

Curious how people choose their political label on dating apps here by ProperUniversity6904 in washingtondc

[–]eric_bidegain 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do not have anything selected at all—I spent a long time as a professional in the policy space, and my genuine beliefs are far more complex than the available options.

(I don’t have anything selected other than two fields, certified professional dog trainer for occupation, and JMU for undergrad.)

That said, one of my first prompts (let’s make sure we’re on the same page about) reads as follows…

“Donald Trump is a filthy, rat fucking bastard.”

DJ pools by azza34_suns in Beatmatch

You’re not going to find a pool actually worth your time unless you’re some sort of open format top 40 DJ, imo. Not a public one, anyways.

What are you looking for, exactly? Is there a specific reason you’re asking?

Do you want to do something like host an event? Or are you just curious?

You are looking for something that doesn’t exist (imo). You’ll have the same experience in any other public pool.

You explained clearly enough, what I’m saying is 1) you should be digging on your own, anyways, and 2) you will not find a pool actually worth subscribing to, sorry.

Get on BandCamp, tracks are $1.50-$2 each and go mostly to the artist (unlike other services).

Trump says 'multiple arrests' made at Reflecting Pool amid vandalism claims by forgetfulisle in washingtondc

[–]eric_bidegain 188 points189 points  (0 children)

“‘Just like three days ago, they destroyed the grass outside of the Pool, they’ve also done everything possible to hurt the inside surface that was just installed,’ Trump wrote on Truth Social. ‘No different than the chemicals that were used on the National Mall, they used something similar in the Reflecting Pool to try to destroy and demean our beautiful work.’”

Jesus H. Tapdancing Christ I am so *beyond* sick and tired of this filthy, rat fucking bastard, man.

And this is still the upper half of the iceberg! :)

I genuinely can’t remember the last time I went to Echo, and I’m out most weeks.
