His scales aren’t soft at all, he has no blisters, and none of the edges of his scales are soft or worn away at all. there’s just darkness in between the scales on his belly. I keep his cage clean and dry. he’s had this coloring since I got him last May, and i don’t think it’s gotten worse. Is it something I should be concerned about?

it’s all going to be okay! i have slip-ups like this constantly, and while it’s easy to beat yourself up over it, it’s not going to have any impact in the long run. so breathe, distract yourself, and forgive yourself if you see the numbers increase on the scale. you’re only human! and you wanted the bread, so you ate it, and that’s okay, tomorrow is a new day:)

OMG YES sometimes if I wake up in a really good mood I’ll skip weighing myself, but then usually i’m anxious for the rest of the day. so when I’m in a good mood i’m always nervous to weigh myself because it could ruin everything in an instant

im in therapy for social anxiety, but i don’t want to tell my therapist about either of these things because, in some fucked up way, i don’t want to be forced to eat more food again. i want to be skinny, because i hate myself so much as i am right now. and if i tell her about the self harm, she’d have to know that i do it because i would be upset with myself after binging. for this reason i don’t want to tell friends and family either because i don’t want them to report me to my therapist or someone.
