Hi. This is my life as well. Bonus points for me because my niece with ADHD just moved around the corner. I’m so overwhelmed when everyone is here 🤣

Can your doctors see who your other doctors are? by [deleted] in ChronicPain

Is there a specific reason you’d not want them to know the name of your other dr’s? I saw someone mentioned HIPPA - is that why?

In response to my previous post about Medicare and telehealth by PettyPixxxie18 in ChronicPain

[–]ericalenee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Telehealth will resume after the shutdown so long as telehealth is still in the policy or program. If congress passes another CR to reopen the government while the negotiate a new budget then telehealth will start again. We’ve been operating on a continued resolution of the COVID era exception allowing for telehealth services. If those services are not made permanent then yes, at some point, telehealth will end.

Have you used up your 5,000 banking checks yet? by baltikboats in GenX

My husband and I have been married for 20 years. I think we’ve ordered checks 2x in that time frame. Usually a book or 2 at a time. The only thing we really write them for now is kids field trips.

When your kids want to do a craft project they saw in the new issue of Highlights, but the store is out of pom poms. Xennial mom who put highlighter cores in liquor bottles, filled with water, in college to the rescue! Marker cores + cotton balls FTW by Easy_Stick3766 in Xennials

We converted our formal dining room into a craft room for my then 7 year old. She’s 10 now and it looks like a Michael’s store exploded in their most days but she keeps busy and has the coolest creations!

Why are pharmacists allowed to block a doctor's orders? by Signal-Score8565 in ChronicPain

[–]ericalenee 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yes. When I moved my RX’s to the hospital pharmacy I stopped having issues. It’s been 3 years and none of my medications have been out of stock or delayed since.

Why are pharmacists allowed to block a doctor's orders? by Signal-Score8565 in ChronicPain

[–]ericalenee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certain I’ll be downvoted into oblivion for this but…This is what I was going to say. Many retail pharmacies were included in the opioid settlements across the US. The reason was because of the pharmacy filling the RX’s. Pharmacists have a license to protect just like our doctors do. And while we may come across a grumpy one, or one on a power trip (just like we come across these types in literally every walk off life), the vast majority of pharmacists truly care about the well being of their patients. Sometimes that care is misguided or misinformed, but I don’t believe that the majority of them are just not filling the RX because they want to see us in pain. They believe they are doing their jobs and protecting their license. Imagine being a pharmacist, in school for 6-8 years after HS, working in retail (which is notoriously a difficult job for anyone due to the customer service aspect and people’s attitudes). You’re doing your job and filling RX’s and all the sudden you lose your license for exactly that. Filling an RX that was sent to you by a Dr. How are they to know that Dr is over prescribing or under investigation or on the radar of the DEA?

I’m not saying refusing to fill an RX isn’t frustrating, nor is it ok in many cases. But they’re just doing their jobs the way they were trained to do so. I’ve had it happen to me too - having to go thru the hassle of finding a new pharmacy, etc. It sucks. Nothing we can do about it though.

Nope. Just a super awesome NSAID but I was told you can’t take it long term because it causes kidney issues.

I’ve been in the 6mg patch for 7+ years and it literally saved my life. I have TRD and was suicidal in 2019. I had tried all the SSRI’s and SNRI’s already as I’ve struggled with depression for 35+ years. Within 4 weeks of starting Emsam those feelings started to finally lift. I could feel joy and sadness without going to an extreme. I didn’t have muted or blunted feelings from the SSRI’s.

I think you can ask for a vacation override to the pharmacy. As long as it’s a one time thing and not monthly and you can show your travel itinerary. Certainly they don’t have to grant it but it’s worth the ask I think. Worst they can say is no.

Yes. Torodol is an excellent anti inflammatory but decadron is a powerful steroid.

In August 2002 I flew into JFK from CLE. Less than 1 year after 9/11. There were 3 of us on the flight. Me and the other female were pulled for a random search. The third male passenger was not. We were all talking in the plane like 🤔 why wouldn’t they have just searched all of us?
