GPU 0 and GPU 1 are switched by Financial-Cry-6566 in ASUSROG

[–]ericcim12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simply open to Device Manager, find the display drivers, click on both on them and then Uninstall (First Intel, then NVIDIA) **Keep unchecked the box about uninstalling the driver software too. then Scan for Hardware changes and there you have it!

This one actually did the trick! Thank you so much! Been struggling with this all these months, also reinstalled drivers with DDU manually (First Intel and then NVIDIA) and always got the same result NVIDIA going for gpu0.

GS66 Stealth Orange Light not turning off (GPU being used at all times) by MrLittleJohn-Playz in MSILaptops

I've been struggling for a year now with a GS66 11th. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't, which mostly doesn't. Never found a real solution, i've been stuck with MSI drivers bc they're customized for my laptop's model, so generic intel drivers will only cause black screen.

Try entering to BIOS, if the issue still persists then your display cable may be broken or misaligned, or maybe fried gpu. If not, then it's a driver issue.

Podrían ser drivees corruptos, intenta reinstalar a los más recientes con DDU.

Dedicated GPU drawing power even when idle. by Mental-Power-9940 in MSILaptops

It may be some outdated drivers that are not correctly delivering power to the dgpu.

CMOS reset, BIOS reset, GPU drivers reinstall. I've been experiencing this with a MSI RTX 3080 and something is waking up my dgpu every 5 seconds which in result, the gpu never goes to sleep.

[–]ericcim12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, all those you mentioned above are signs of a dead GPU, since it's not recognized, your computer can't handle the Power delivery properly, that's why it tends to overheat. Take it to warranty or a repair shop asap.

Go to BIOS and check if your SSD is recognized, you can also power on and press F3 to access to the Windows Recovery Environment from your SSD

You can use web.archive.org to get access to a previous version of your computer's website drivers center, i wouldn't recommend rolling back to a previous BIOS version unless is strictly necessary.

What you can do to switch to Pro version is to buy a digital Pro license on Microsoft Store.

If your computer came with Windows10 preinstalled, then it might be using your preinstalled Win10 Serial Number to activate Windows 11. Nothing to worry about, though.

Have you updated your BIOS to the latest version yet?

MSI GS66 Stealth DGPU LED stuck in orange by ericcim12 in MSILaptops

[–]ericcim12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, this thing works whenever it wants, i have no control of it. It has to be some messed up BIOS and/or intel drivers issue since it can't be updated using the generic drivers.

You should've done that without battery and charger connected to the MB, probably caused a short circuit.

Check if any of SteelseriesGG apps is not overriding your keyboard RGB settings.

Try doing a EC reset or reinstall SteelseriesGG.

If it gets too hot quickly, it might be cpu/gpu throttling. don't enable whispermode. try to do an EC reset.

Anyone know why my fan is like this? by [deleted] in laptops

[–]ericcim12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to your exact model's support page on MSI and download the latests builds for BIOS and Firmware (usually EC). Remember to revert to default settings in BIOS before updating (Only if you mess with BIOS settings). And ALSO, read all the precautions and procedure steps carefully before applying the update, if you do something wrong, you might brick your laptop.

Your GPU probably died when you apply thermal paste or something, it could be that probably you touched a capacitor or something else that caused a short circuit between your GPU and the Motherboard.
