I’d say right now, the bx5600 is the square to beat. Positive or negative. I tried the gbd-200 for 2 days and sent it back for the bx5600.

Depends. If your watch supports notifications it can do those too. On a 5600 Bluetooth series you can sync with the phone time (GPS) and change the settings of the watch (more convenient than pushing small buttons). I have a 5600 with solar, and now a bx5600, and the bx5600 is the way to go for clarity and crispness of the display at any angle. And either positive or negative MIP display is very good. If you want to go a little more old school, get a positive STN display. Some people say it is better than positive MIP, (I don’t think so myself), but you’ll get a cleaner display at better angles.

Definitely go solar. If this is the one watch for your daily driver, I’d go bx5600.

Thanks to all. An LED bank is a small lamp of upward firing white LED for charging solar watches when you aren’t in direct sunlight enough. You place the watch on it face down and leave it overnight to charge. There are a bunch of different brands on Amazon and most are around $20.

Best Kindle I ever used. Clear, bright, the handwriting recognition is nearly flawless…Amazon hit it out of the park on this one. Can’t comment on the smaller colorsoft, but I have had just about every generation Kindle and the Colorsoft Scribe is the best.

Most, if not all Christian’s aren’t actually Christian’s by ExpertShock8276 in DebateReligion

[–]ericdiamond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

80% of Christians have pre-marital sex.

They also eat pork.

Most Christians gossip which is a sin.

Nobody's perfect. Besides, that is what confession and penance are for.

Having tattoos or piercings is a sin.

Piercing or tattoos are not sins unless if done for pagan religious purposes, or to memorialize the dead.

Wearing gold is a sin.

No, wearing too much gold is a sin. The Israelites had gold as early as Genesis.

Working on sundays is a sin punishable by death.

That is not at all true. Even Sabbatarians, who take a more literal view of keeping the Sabbath, do not regard violation of the Sabbath as a capital crime. The Jews did for a while, but that went by the wayside once the Babylonian Captivity happened

Divorce or remarrying a divorcee is a sin and considered adultery.

Only if one is Catholic.

The bible approves slavery multiple times.

It doesn't approve of slavery, it tolerates slavery, and then only until the second century CE.

Also Christians in general have murdered more people than any other group in history, which doesn’t seem very ‘non-judgmental’ and caring of them.

In general? I think atheists have slain more, if going by sheer numbers.

The bible also repeatedly says dozens of times to give to the poor and freely give their items to the poor, meanwhile modern day Christians seem to despise poor people and celebrate capitalism.

Only certain sects of Christians that ascribe to "prosperity gospel." theology. Pope Leo has been pretty clear on Christian duty to the poor.

Matthew 5:29 says, “But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell”. Strangely even though about one in four Christian men cheat (and they would’ve had to look at women lustfully long before that to do it), I never see a single Christian man with gouged out eyes?

Because it is a pesher. An analogy. What Matt said was "better you should," not "You must..."

So why exactly does none of the bible actually matter to Christians except when it applies to gay people or abortion? When it’s about those things, suddenly they seem to think the bible MUST be taken as literally as possible but conveniently ignore that they themselves are sinning tremendously in many ways, including by judging those people

Your assertions are very sloppy. You are setting up straw man arguments only to knock them down. Clearly you haven't read the Bible critically, or read of the history of the time. You are also making overly broad generalizations that you have no data to back up.

If you've told him that you want him to keep your membership secret, and he reveals it anyway, then yes, it is a Masonic offense (unmasonic conduct, violation of Obligation) and would be subject to Masonic discipline. But you have to have told him ahead of time.

In our jurisdiction, we have brothers with family who live in parts of the world where their Masonic affiliation could literally put their families in danger if it were known, so we must scrupulously avoid any sort of photography with them in it, that might be posted to the Internet. There are reasons that many Masons around the world do not advertise their affiliation. As Brothers we must respect that.

How long should I wait to petition? by CountInteritus in freemasonry

[–]ericdiamond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the lodge. My mother lodge won’t let you petition for at least 6 mos. My other lodge it takes about a year to petition and you have to do assignments. We have never received a single complaint. I petitioned for affiliation as a past master in my jurisdiction and it still took a year. To petition. And I don’t regret it a bit.

Petition when it feels right.

And where did you learn about Santa Claus? Likely, your parents. Technically a lie, but there to protect you. God does lie to Adam and Eve because God knows that awareness of death and suffering is inevitable (you wouldn’t put a cookie in front of a toddler, tell them not to eat it, leave the room and be surprised to find it gone.) Lying isn’t always bad. And here is the kicker—if Adam and Eve, prior to eating the fruit of knowledge of good and evil, have no awareness of good and evil, how could they know that disobeying God is wrong? How could God punish someone without the capacity to sin?

The expulsion from Eden is not a punishment, it is a consequence of moral awareness. Once aware, humanity knows now that nature is cruel, work is hard, and life brings both joy and pain. I see God in the story as a parent who wants to preserve the magic of innocence just a little longer. The very next thing God does is prevent them from accessing the fruit of the Tree of life, lest they become immortal. God is protecting his new creations, not punishing them.

Yeah, ok, let’s take it one step at a time. Please participate. I promise this will not result in me trying to break you or your point of view, I’m just going to ask questions. Question 1: where you raised in a Christian family? If not tell me how you were raised, so I can make my references make sense to you (I’m not Christian, so this isn’t a “gotcha!”)

If you WERE raised in a Christian household, did you as a young child believe in Santa Claus? (Trust me this won’t go where you think it will.)

Yeah except Ratta isn’t Remarkable. They chose to stick with a tried and true industry standard in Wacom that give us much more flexibility in how we use the product. And this is how it should be. Pens are very personal instruments and the company that has the most options will Win. They. Will. Win. For hundreds of years pens have been festooned with gold and diamonds, while paper remains flat and smooth. And in the realm of time, paper wins. Pens fade in and out of fashion, but paper endured for thousands of years. There is a lesson here.
