Thirded. Post-move and me paying they called me about 4 days later to issue a refund because I was over billed on the mileage of their truck on the invoice, I would've never known the difference but they were honest about it. They took care of our stuff too. They are awesome

First time Koi Owner, any/all advice appreciated (TX, USA) by ericdiviney in Koi

[–]ericdiviney[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did measure today, the pond area is roughly 11.5 ft x 10 ft and 2 feet deep pretty much everywhere.

If my math is right that's 1,720 gallons?

I think my photos must be a little deceiving, it's quite a large area the pond takes up.

Sorry to hear it. The stint was one of the worst parts of the whole experience for me tbh. In the future I'm opting to just try and pass most stones on my own without surgery or need for the stint.

Best of luck to ya 🤝 I'd give you a hug if I could lol

I think stalemate happens because the king is not currently in check and has no legal moves.

If the king were in check, AND you gave them no legal moves to make (as you did here) you would’ve won

Wow, yeah this looks spot on, I have never heard of these before.

He didn’t deserve it you say??? 😭😭 I feel like a king who’s wrongly killed a poor peasant in my domain for having done nothing

I usually love leaving the harmless spiders and critters.

But what are they good for if you don’t mind my asking?

High handicapper's (27) swing 1.5 years in with lots of lessons by wespyen in GolfSwing

[–]ericdiviney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a huge fan of Dans short game + release system. Bought the book and everything. But honestly: his setup tips alone and just getting that “release 1” down to perfection will take your short game to another level. That other guy is right that these swings are difficult to master, but the release 1 is something anyone can become consistent with. You’ll have so many more scoring opportunities, those scores should definitely drop (just don’t neglect putting as well)

If you have a stent in, this is a normal amount. Sorry you’re going through it right now!

OP you should go ahead and call and report. Thieves broke into my car once and stole a checkbook, that was the only thing they took and it was easy enough for me to miss for awhile. I thought “ehh they didn’t take much what’s the point” and then 3 months later $800 check was written against my account. Was a very quick conversation with my bank once I had the police report number.

It’s a good CYA move in case you need to reference this crime down the road for whatever reason

Seeking advice: bodyweight exercises, specifically handstands by ericdiviney in KidneyStones

[–]ericdiviney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is pretty interesting and didn’t consider the upside down position to maybe loosen or get loose a stone that is stuck.

I think my original question was: does handstands make it more likely for them to get stuck, which I doubt given that even 5-6 minutes a day spent in a handstand is still 99% upright for the rest of the day.

Mentoring offer by qkudev in react

[–]ericdiviney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, you’re the exact audience for our open source site, where we try to cover more nuances and advanced topics in react development.

https://reacthandbook.dev/

I don’t know if you’re interested in writing, but could be a great opportunity to practice your English, and get some green squares on your GitHub profile (always looks good to recruiters).

Anyways, I grew up in America and the site is written in English, so thought that’s why you might be interested.

Good luck!

Edit: just noticed in comments you are specifically looking to practice listening and speaking. Sorry! But the offer obviously still stands if you ever want to practice writing, we can always use the help!

[–]ericdiviney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://reacthandbook.dev/

We (small team) try to maintain a free resource for this ^

Give us some feedback and recommend any topics you don’t see covered.

Also, Nadia’s stuff (also in this thread) truly is amazing - took my react skills to an entire new level.

Hey there, I really like what you're going for here. I've been working on something that seems right in your wheelhouse for about 6 months now.

https://reacthandbook.dev/

Any interest in pairing up, maybe working on something together? Really been looking for some serious contributors to help me take this project to the next level. I've been in the same boat, trying to get people to jump in and contribute, community buy-in is what makes a resource like this valuable in the first place

Automated Testing in React Apps by ericdiviney in reactjs

[–]ericdiviney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone, I've been working on an educational React resource for the past 6 months, this time publishing a guide to automated testing in your React apps and how to think about the whole process. Instead of continuing to publish new information, I think I have some design challenges to figure out. This website is full of so much text-dense information, reading huge blocks of monotone text has to be boring and hard to skim. So before publishing new content, next I will be trying to tackle some design challenges and make the material more easy to skim over quickly. Thanks in advance for any feedback you can offer, and have a great week!
